• Additional Funding Opportunity for 2026 Summer Special Education Data Support Grant Funding Recipients

    Application Window: September 22, 2026 - October 14, 2026
  • Districts that were approved for and received funding through the 2026 Summer Special Education Data Support Grant may apply for additional reimbursement if employee stipends paid for work performed outside of contract hours exceeded the amount originally awarded through the grant. 

    To be considered for supplemental funding, districts must submit documentation demonstrating that actual stipend expenditures exceeded the original grant award.

    Required documentation should include: 

    • A completed supplemental funding application.
    • Assurances authorized by district official verifying that:  
      • The submitted expenditures are accurate and allowable under the grant program. 
      • The stipends were paid for work completed outside of employees' contracted work schedules prior to 8/31/2026 
      • The district has exhausted its original allocation for eligible stipend costs.

  • 6. Total Expenses*
  • Total expenses must be for expenses incurred for the payment of extra duty stipends to existing staff for work completed prior to September 1, 2026 for the purpose of determining special education student Tier Intensity data for submission to TEA.

    Total Expenses - Initial Funding Received = Additional Funds Requested

    Example: Total Expenses ($20,000) - Initial Funding Received ($5,000) = Additional Funds Requested ($15,000)

  • The LEA/SSA assures that all funds received from this award will be used solely for the reimbursement of expenses incurred for the payment of extra duty stipends to existing staff for work completed prior to September 1, 2026 for the purpose of determining special education student Tier Intensity data for submission to TEA.*
  • The LEA/SSA assures that all funds initially received from the 2026 Summer Sped Grant Program have been exhausted and there are existing expenses that can be reimbursed with the additional funding being requested.*
  • The LEA/SSA assures that local documentation will be maintained to document the appropriate use of funds for the allowable activities and provide copies of the documentation to Region 10 or TEAS upon request.*
  • The LEA/SSA assures that all expenditures are reasonable, necessary, and aligned with IDEA requirements.*
  • The LEA/SSA assures that the information provided in this application is accurate to the best of our knowledge, expenses reported were used in accordance with EDGAR/state and federal spending guidelines, and all documentation used to provide the information in this application will be maintained at the LEA.*
