QUALIFICATIONS

Delegates of all experience levels are welcome to apply; however, we recommend at least one year of previous NMUN experience to apply for a Chair position. Experienced delegates are particularly encouraged to apply to become a Chair for their committee. These positions are great for delegates wishing to take an active leadership role in their NMUN•DC committee, as well as delegates who may be interested in applying for volunteer staff positions in the future.

DEADLINE

Delegates need to submit their application by October 4th, 2026 by 11:59pm EDT.

INTERVIEW

Interviews for applicants will be conducted virtually and scheduled based on availability.

ELIGIBILITY FOR AWARDS

All individuals who are selected as Chairs for committees at the NMUN•DC conference will be required to relinquish their position as delegates representing a given Member State. However, they are still eligible for recognition in each session of the committee, and a delegate’s service in this position in no way detracts from their delegation’s ability to win an overall delegation award.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The GA1, GA2, IOM, and UNEA committees have Chairs who work with the Director and Assistant Director to assist with procedural and administrative tasks. The positions require a working knowledge of the NMUN rules of procedure and a professional presence on the dais.
