  • BEFORE YOU BEGIN

  • Thank you for your interest in the Thredz Y3 Youth Leadership Development Program.

Y3 is a year-round youth leadership program grounded in Hope, Access, and Purpose. Throughout the year, participants may have opportunities for leadership development, community and civic engagement, college and career exposure, financial and life skills, entrepreneurship, field experiences, special projects, youth stipends, and paid work experiences.

Why is this application a little more detailed?

Because Y3 includes funded opportunities, stipends, potential paid work experiences, community representation, and significant investment in participating youth, we need to learn a little more about each applicant than we would for a traditional youth activity.

We want to know about you - your interests, goals, experiences, availability, strengths, needs, and the areas in which you would like to grow.

There are no perfect answers. You do not have to already consider yourself a leader, have everything figured out, or know exactly what you want to do with your future.

Please answer in your own words. We want to hear from you.

All questions are required unless marked "Optional" or "If Applicable."

    BEFORE YOU APPLY, PLEASE KNOW:
    • Y3 generally requires participation 2-3 days per week for approximately 2-3 hours per program day.
    • Some weeks may also include field trips, community events, leadership opportunities, special projects, or paid/stipended experiences.
    • Consistent participation, communication, and follow-through are expected.
    • Transportation or another barrier should not automatically stop you from applying. Tell us what you need so we can better understand how to support your participation.

  • WHAT HAPPENS AFTER YOU APPLY?

  • Submitting this application is the first step in the Y3 selection process.

    STEP 1 - APPLICATION REVIEW
The Thredz/Y3 team will review completed applications.

    STEP 2 - YOUTH INTERVIEW
Applicants selected to move forward will be invited to participate in an interview with members of the Thredz/Y3 team. The interview gives us a chance to learn more about you beyond what you wrote in your application. It also gives you an opportunity to learn more about Y3, ask questions, talk about your interests and goals, and discuss your schedule or support needs.

You do not need previous interview experience. Part of Y3 is learning how to communicate who you are, what matters to you, and what you want for your future.

    STEP 3 - SELECTION
Following interviews, applicants will be notified about program selection and next steps.

    STEP 4 - YOUTH + PARENT/GUARDIAN ORIENTATION
If selected, you and your parent/legal guardian will participate in a required Y3 Orientation & Onboarding Session before you begin the program.
