RODEO AND ASSOCIATED EVENTS ARE DANGEROUS RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

These activities include, but are not limited to, rodeos, rodeo-related activities, campdrafts, stockman's challenges, gymkhanas, camel races, western horse sports, bush sprint races, other equestrian or livestock-related activities, novelty events, sporting activities, entertainment, and any other public or participant-based activity conducted or authorised by the event organiser, including related practice, preparation and event areas.

I understand and accept the following risks of participation:
- Animals acting in sudden, unpredictable or changeable ways when frightened or hurt
- Falling from, being thrown from, trampled, kicked, bitten, gored or crushed by animals
- High-speed mounted activity at height and collisions with people, animals, vehicles, fences, gates, chutes or other obstacles
- Equipment or tack failure, or unstable, uneven, slippery or changing ground, arena or weather conditions, including deterioration during an event
- Other related dangers inherent in these activities
These risks may cause serious injury, permanent disability, death or property damage.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

I participate voluntarily and entirely at my own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and discharge National Rodeo Council of Australia Limited (NRCA), the relevant Affiliates, Member Associations, Event Committees, Organisers, Schools, Stock Contractors and Venue Owners/Occupiers, and their Directors, Officers, Officials, Volunteers, Employees and Agents, from liability for personal injury, death, property damage, economic loss or other harm arising from these activities, including negligence. Any exclusion of recreational-service consumer guarantees is limited to death or personal injury.

Nothing in this document excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including personal injury caused by reckless conduct, gross negligence where applicable, or contravention of a specific statutory safety procedure.

INSURANCE DISCLOSURE

NRCA has a group Personal Accident policy providing basic benefits for eligible registered participants at NRCA-affiliated events. This waiver concerns liability claims against NRCA and the other listed parties, including claims that may fall under public liability insurance; it does not waive or reduce any entitlement under the Personal Accident policy. Cover remains subject to the policy wording, eligibility, benefits, limits and exclusions.

MEDICAL FITNESS

I am medically and physically fit, or medically cleared, to participate; I have disclosed any pre-existing injury, illness or condition reasonably relevant to my ability to participate safely; I have not been advised by a medical professional to avoid these activities unless later medically cleared; and I accept full responsibility for my fitness to participate.

CONDUCT AND BEHAVIOUR

I agree to follow all event rules and directions from organisers, officials and stewards; not participate if injured, fatigued or impaired; not consume alcohol or illegal drugs before or during participation; conduct myself and manage any animal safely, controllably and respectfully; notify organisers immediately of any hazard or injury to myself or my animal; and accept that a breach may result in immediate removal, with any refund governed by event terms and applicable law.
