• Athlete Performance Scholarship - Application Form

  • Gymnastics WA awards Performance Scholarships bi-annually to Junior International and Senior International athletes across all gymsports who are achieving benchmark scores at National and International events. 

    In order to receive a scholarship, athletes must complete this application form detailing information confirming they have met the applicable eligiblity and performance criteria. 

    The 2026 scholarship periods are as below;

    • April 2026 - April 2027 schoalrship period, based on the best result at:
      • The 2025 National Clubs Carnival or any selection event (inc. VSAs) hosted between September 1 2025 and February 28 2026 OR, 
      • A FIG Group 1-3 event attended between September 1 2025 and February 28 2026. 
    • The October 2026 - April 2027 scholarship period will be based on the best result at:
      • The 2026 Australian Championships OR,
      • A FIG Group 1-3 event attended between March 1 2026 and July 31 2026. 

    Applications for a October 2026 - April 2027 scholarship will open on September 21, 2026 and close on Friday October 2, 2026. Applications will then be assessed against the relevant criteria and applicants will be notified of the outcome.  

    The scholarship program is currently undergoing a planned review to ensure it it meeting the desired outcomes for the community. As a result, scholarships awarded in this period will cover six months rather than a full 12 months, and benefits will be adjusted accordingly. 

    Please note that applications are to be submitted by the athlete/parent rather than the club.

  • Eligiblity

  • To be eligible for a Performance Scholarship, an athlete must have met the relevant performance criteria in addition to the below requirements. 

    •  A current registered, financial member of a Gymnastics WA affiliated club
    • An Australian Citizen or permanent resident
    • Must have resided in Western Australia for a minimum of 6 months
    • Must have no outstanding financial obligations to Gymnastics WA
    • Must not be subject to any disciplinary action or the investigation of disciplinary action
    • Must agree to always uphold the Code of Conduct.
    • Be competing in one of the below levels
      • MAG – Senior International, Junior U18, Junior U15
      • WAG – Senior International, Developing International, Junior International
      • RG – Senior International, Junior International
      • AER – Senior International, Junior International
      • TRP – Senior International, Junior 17+, Junior U17
      • ACR – Senior International, Junior International

    "If I/my child am/is successful in being awarded a Performance Scholarship by Gymnastics WA, I agree to the below;

    • I agree to always conduct myself in line with Gymnastics WA's Values of Leadership, Integirty, Teamwork, Respect and Excellence. 
    • I agree to abide by the Gymnastics WA Code of Conduct
    • I agree to ensure that my attitude and/or commitment to training will always be that of which is acceptable for inclusion in a performance program. 
    • I agree that my behaviour (including language and actions) will be of an acceptable standard at competitions, training or at any event at which I am representing the sport of gymnastics, Gymnastics WA or Gymnastics Australia. 
    • I agree to always show respect to Gymnastics WA, Gymnastics WA staff and my fellow athletes within WA. 
    • I agree to act in a manner that is befitting of my role model status within the sport of gymnastics. 
    • I agree to abide by all relevant policies and procedures of Gymnastics WA and Gymnastics Australia including, but not limited to, the Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy, the National Integirty Framework and the Social Media Policy. 

    I recognise that if I am involved in an incident that is deemed to breach any of the above or breach the expectations of me as a scholarship holder, my scholarship tier level may be reduced or, my scholarship may be taken away from me."
