  • 1. PURPOSE

  • SEDFL welcomes responsible team owners, head coaches, and assistant coaches who want to help provide organized, affordable, safe, and respectful football opportunities. SEDFL supports Men's Flag Football, Women's Flag Football, Tackle Football, and COED Flag Football.

    Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. SEDFL administration reviews each application and may request additional information before a final decision.

  • 2. OWNER & COACH RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Follow the SEDFL Bylaws and the applicable Flag, Tackle, or COED Game Rules.
    • Communicate professionally with SEDFL administration, officials, players, coaches, and opposing teams.
    • Maintain an accurate team roster and help ensure player eligibility.
    • Make sure players complete required registrations, waivers, and insurance requirements.
    • Meet team registration, payment, roster, and scheduling deadlines.
    • Help maintain sportsmanship and appropriate team conduct.
    • Keep personal conflicts separate from league business.
    • Notify SEDFL promptly about major roster, coaching, field, or scheduling changes.
    • Follow league safety and insurance requirements.
    • Protect confidential league and player information.
    • Do not sign agreements that legally or financially bind SEDFL or DRFL LLC without written authorization.

  • 3. HOME FIELD RESPONSIBILITY

  • Each SEDFL team is responsible for finding, securing, and paying for its own approved home field, unless SEDFL agrees otherwise in writing. This structure helps keep SEDFL league fees affordable and prevents teams in lower-cost areas from paying for more expensive fields used by other teams.

  • If a facility requests a Certificate of Insurance, Additional Insured status, or special liability wording, the owner or coach must contact SEDFL before making commitments on behalf of the league.

  • 4. INSURANCE RESPONSIBILITY

  • SEDFL may arrange or require approved team insurance. Players may contribute approximately $40 per player toward team insurance. The actual amount may change based on the policy premium, taxes, processing costs, roster size, and
  • coverage requirements.

    SEDFL may attempt to avoid unnecessary duplicate insurance when an approved policy adequately covers the team, coaches, players, and authorized SEDFL activities. Actual coverage always depends on the insurance policy.

  • Tackle — Team Fee: $400 | Player Fee: $75 | Insurance Contribution: Approximately $40 per player.

    Forfeit Fees: First forfeit: $150. Second forfeit: $250. A third or additional forfeit may result in further disciplinary review, including loss of playoff eligibility or removal from SEDFL.

    Refund Policy: SEDFL fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or specifically approved by authorized league administration.

  • 6. APPLICATION REVIEW

  • SEDFL may approve, deny, place conditions on, or request additional information about an application. Review may consider team readiness, communication, conduct history, roster development, field planning, safety compliance, and the applicant's ability to follow SEDFL requirements.

  • 7. ACKNOWLEDGMENT

  • By applying, the applicant confirms that the information provided is accurate and understands that approval requires compliance with SEDFL Bylaws, applicable Game Rules, registration requirements, insurance requirements, safety policies, conduct standards, and official league decisions.
