Student Nurse Bursary

The Adelaide Health Foundation is committed to ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent the study of nursing at Tallaght University Hospital.

Bursaries are provided from the voluntary funds of the Adelaide Health Foundation and the awarding of a bursary is solely within the discretion of the Foundation.

Applications are open to 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd year student nurses who are attached to Tallaght University Hospital. 

If you have narrowly missed out on SUSI funding due to level of household income, you may still be eligible for AHF Bursary

Personal details will be kept strictly confidential.

Please Read the Following Terms Carefully

Bursary award is based on means tested income 

Basis for assessment (“Who” is Means Tested/Assessed)

1. Applicants between the ages of 17 and 23 years on or before 1 January on year of entry - the income of the applicant’s parents/guardians will be assessed.
2. For applicants who are over 23 years on or before 1 January on year of entry and are residing with and dependent on their parents/guardians - The income of the applicants and the parents/guardians will be assessed.
3. For mature independent applicants - the income of the applicant and the spouse will be assessed.

 *The assessment will be made for the income year prior to the year of entry (i.e. last year's income)

Required Documentation

Before you proceed, please have the following documents ready to submit by uploading to this form [Remove all Passwords]. 

• Proof of all income is required for each relevant section. e.g
  • If income is from Department of Social Protection, provide Social welfare statements from last year[2025]
  • If income is from employment provide the Employment Detail Summary/Statement of Liability (former P21) for 2025.
  • If income was from Self-Employment/Farming please submit your 2025 Form 11 return summary or Business Accounts (with Tax exemption if applicable)
  • If income was from other sources e.g. Investments, Life Bonds etc. you must submit bank statements for 2025
• Proof of registration as a student at TCD. You must be a Registered Student at Trinity College Dublin 
• Proof of SUSI grant OR letter of refusal for your 2026[CURRENT] application

When Providing Supporting Documents

• Providing Password protected pdfs will result in your application being rejected. 
• In certain circumstances, further documentation may be required
• If you are unsure whether a source of income should be included in your application, you should provide details of this income. 
• You may supply a description of your own or your family’s circumstances in the ‘Special Circumstances' section if you feel that it would be helpful in assessing the application.
• AHF bursaries must be re-applied for every year

INSTRUCTIONS

• You must complete every relevant section. Incomplete forms will be rejected
• Your application will not be processed without supporting documents.
• Supporting documents must be readable and accesible [remove password protection]
• Supporting documents must be submitted with the application. [You may submit bulky documents separately but all must be received by closing date].
• It is your responsibility to ensure the Application is fully and properly completed
• Applications received after the closing date will not be considered
• Do not use your @TCD email address [use personal Yahoo, Gmail etc emails only]
• Check your SPAM/JUNK mail for our correspondence to you.  
• Due to heavy server traffic on the closing day, applicants are strongly advised to submit applications well in advance of the deadline

AHF will acknowledge receipt of your information. If you do not receive an acknowledgement from AHF-Jotform, first check your SPAM/JUNK Mail folders. If you still have a query, send an email to Esther@adelaide.ie
