  • ROWDY

    "Make Wilton Manors "Rowdy" Again"
  • Bio: My sweet Rowdy is very very calm, unlike his name. I’ve had him since he was 9 weeks old, and he is soooooo loved. He’s pretty well behaved, will sit and stay very well, and he is not intimidated by loud noises or large crowds. He even does photo shoots for Chewy on occasion. He does act up now and then, and he is possessive of a ball, but only if another dog wants it. . . . .I take him with me everywhere I am allowed. He has been in restaurants, ridden on Brightline, gone shopping at the mall, but he has not been on a plane yet. He LOVES to ride in the car, and I have trouble leaving him because once he sees my purse he flies to the front door. Doesn’t like the rain, but he has a raincoat and will go outside during a rainstorm with that on. He’s sooooo cute, you just have to love him.

Why would Rowdy make a great Dog Mayor?: My dog would make a great mayor for Wilton Manors because he loves to be out and about. He knows what’s going on, and wants to be part of it, whatever that is. He loves being the center of attention, and he usually gets plenty of that whenever we go anywhere because he is an attention getter. He would be a perfect mayor.

  • MOOSE

    "Think BIG, Vote SMALL!"
  • Bio: Moose is a Chihuahua that changes minds about the breed when people meet him! Although he can be shy at first, he quickly warms up. Moose, loves people, other dogs, and being outdoors. Moose‘s favorite time is bath time, as well as playtime. Moose has a pride, harness and leash, and would be a great representative of the Wilton community! Moose loves the dog park more than just about any other place, and is just over one year old so he is ready for the challenge of representing the best for all dogs in Wilton! His most recent enjoyable experience at the park was running back-and-forth up and down the fence with a new pitbull friend, who exhausted him, and led to a gentle nose touch towards the end.

Why would Moose make a great Dog Mayor?: Moose can draw attention from just about anyone. He barks to let you know he’s there, but if you put your hand by him, he’s ready to give you kisses and even let you hold him. Moose is very go with the flow, but he expects a lot for his community! Moose enjoys going to Java Joe’s and taking a nap while his dad works. When he’s helping dad with a therapy session, he loves to go up and sit next to clients and love on them. He wants to bring acceptance, new beliefs about small dogs, and deliver the best for Wilton and it’s residence in any way he possibly can.

  • CAPTAIN

"VOTE FOR CAPTAIN: He Runs a Tight Ship."
  • Bio: Captain is a South Florida native, born just across the border in Oakland Park and adopted from the local Animal Aid shelter.

He’s a proud Super Mutt: Shiba Inu, Pit Bull, German Shepherd, Chow Chow, Shar-Pei, Bichon Frise and Basset Hound.

Short in stature but big in personality, Captain is ready to serve Wilton Manors! You may have already seen him making the rounds, greeting every person and every dog in the park. He believes no one should leave the dog park without a proper hello.

His memoir, Against All Paws: How I Overcame My Short Legs and Became Captain, is in the works.

Why would Captain make a great Dog Mayor?: Captain believes a good mayor should work the whole park.

He greets newcomers. He knows no strangers. He crosses party, breed and species lines. And most important, he makes people happy.

His platform is simple: more play, more treats, more friends and equal sniffing opportunities for all.

Vote Captain. He runs a tight ship.

  • SULLY

"Boops You Can Believe In, The Floof Stops Here.
  • Bio: Sully’s campaign is built on a simple promise: “Boops You Can Believe In. The Floof Stops Here”. She is the candidate Wilton Manors deserves—equal parts public servant, neighborhood sweetheart, and impossibly photogenic snow dog thriving in the Florida sunshine.

Against a backdrop of ordinary politics, Sully offers something more meaningful: direct eye contact, excellent listening ears, and an unwavering commitment to making every resident feel seen, welcomed, and loved.
In her official campaign portrait, Sully sits poised and ready for office: bright blue eyes locked on the voter, ears up, signature floof fully in session, and tongue out in a show of transparent enthusiasm. She is not hiding behind talking points. She is meeting the moment—and possibly requesting a treat.
Sully understands the unique needs of Wilton Manors. As a snow dog who has chosen the Sunshine State, she knows what it means to find your pack, celebrate your individuality, and bring a little coolness to a city already known for warmth, personality, and Pride.

Why would Sully make a great Dog Mayor?: Her platform:
    • Boops you can believe in: Honest affection, nose-to-nose constituent outreach, and no empty paw-mises.
    • Floof that delivers: A City Hall culture of joy and proudly high standards for hair, she believed in leaving a little piece of yourself behind wherever she goes.
    • Pride for every pack: A welcoming community where every human, hound, and honorary pet parent belongs.
    • Belly-rub access for all: A firm commitment to rest, play, affection, and the basic right to be spoiled.
    • More wag, less worry: Practical leadership for life’s everyday issues—especially snacks, shade, neighborhood strolls, and finding the best sunny spot.

  • BRODY

"Love, Kisses and Treats for ALL"
  • Bio: Brody is a New England native and moved to the Island City at the tender age of 2.5. Since moving to Wilton Manors in March of 2023, Brody has taken on the role of unofficial town greeter and lives by the motto that ""Life is just better here""! A Labrador Retriever by birth he is a lover and not a fighter, quickly winning the hearts of most people he encounters. Whether visits to city hall, sniff patrol along the drive and around the neighborhoods, check-ins with his favorite establishments, being present for drop-off at Wilton Elementary School, Brody will take his leash and greet you with a big wiggle butt and kisses. He loves to say ""Hello"" to everyone crossing his path (he gets offended when ignored or brushed off). While not a fan of the harness (probably the only male in Wilton Manors that runs away from one), he does wear it proudly on walks after certain incentives are received.
While a man of leisure, his home duties include:
    • Retrieving the newspaper
    • Maintaining the pool water at acceptable levels
    • Keeping an eye on the neighborhood from the front stoop
    His hobbies include:
    • Swimming (daily – Thank you!)
    • Pool parties (he has been to more than his dad… no further comment)
    • Sniffing (local pee-mail keeps him informed of all local comings and goings)
    • Giving out kisses (full facial if you let him)
    • Collecting treats from friends on the drive (best way to access doggy junk food!)
    • Eating (he is a Lab after all)
    • Going for rides (especially if pup cups are included)
At home, he enjoys relaxing, limiting personal space and playing ball in the pool. All visitors are greeted with toys and big wiggles, not with barks and intimidation!

Why would Brody make a great Dog Mayor?: Brody isn’t just running for Dog Mayor - he’s been unofficially doing the job since arriving in Wilton Manors in 2023!
As the self-appointed Official Town Greeter, Brody takes community service very seriously. His regular mayoral duties already include making the rounds on the Drive, conducting neighborhood sniff patrols, visiting his favorite local establishments, checking in at City Hall, and making appearances at Wilton Elementary School. Wherever he goes, Brody believes every constituent deserves the same warm welcome: a big wiggle butt, an enthusiastic hello, and, when permitted, a few Labrador kisses.
Brody is a lover, not a fighter, and his campaign is built on a simple promise: bring people together, make everyone feel welcome, and never turn down a treat.
He also stays remarkably well-informed on local affairs. While other candidates may rely on newspapers and social media, Brody gets his news directly from the source through the neighborhood’s extensive “pee-mail” network. He knows who’s been around, what’s happening, and—most importantly—which local businesses keep treats behind the counter. But more important, Brody is all inclusive and does not withhold his love or attention just for treats!
As Dog Mayor, Brody would proudly represent everything he loves about the Island City: its friendly people, welcoming spirit, great local businesses, and sense of community.
    Brody believes in
More Love. More Play. More Wiggles. More Kisses. More Treats.

And Brody lives by the city’s motto that “Life is just better here!”

"Barking Up the Right Tree for a Happier, Cleaner Community."
  • Bio: Hercules is a 4 year old Staffordshire Terrier that has endured a lot. Coming off the streets of Hialeah, Hercules endured living in an abusive home at a young age. He had also been hit by a car and needed extensive surgery to repair his front leg. He then was given an opportunity to move to Wilton Manors to live with a loving family that has been able to give him the best life possible. At the time he was adopted he became a younger brother to the late Cognac who unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge back in February, 2026. Cognac showed Hercules strength and confidence in the 2.5 years they got to spend together. Even though timid with people, Hercules has an amazing presence at his favorite dog park, Colohatchee Park. All the patrons know him and he loves to play with his fellow K9s. Hercules now loves to be at home on the couch, chewing his favorite Chuckit ball, going on car rides, and to next adventures where ever his dad's may take him. Weather it be through the car wash, up to Michigan to visit family, a walk down Wilton drive to visit Miss Lynn at DQ, or just a quick trip to the 7/11. Hercules is always happy as long as he gets to do it with his favorite humans and to say hi to others on the way.

Why would Hercules make a great Dog Mayor?: Hercules would make the perfect dog Mayor for Wilton Manors and embassador to the K9 community. He regularly mingles at Colohatchee Park with many others to become involved with his community. In past years Hercules has partaken in both Pride and Wicked Manors events to show support for the community. He loves to show off his outfits in the cooler months as well as his favorite shoes for the warmer months to promote health and safety for those in the K9 community. Staying active and safe here in South Florida is his top priority! With paws on the ground, Hercules can demonstrate the best for safety and health to his K9 constituents. He's young, energetic, and an all around pure bread good boy that loves his life and those in it unconditional.

  • LONDON WU-BROWN

"Never Meets a Stranger. Never Runs Out of Energy."
  • Bio: Meet London, a spunky Jack Russell Terrier born in London, Kentucky—yes, her hometown is her namesake.  In her brief six years, this little traveler has already explored more than 30 states. She’s spent over three years living in Hawaii and more than two in Florida, all so she can school the other dogs on the real differences between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.

Why would London make a great Dog Mayor?: London recently welcomed a half-brother into the family and has embraced her new role as a big sister with natural kindness and a gentle maternal instinct. At the same time, she remains playful, energetic, and full of fun.

London is an outstanding candidate for Dog Mayor. Her owners are fully committed to investing the financial resources and community effort needed to make Wilton Manors an even more dog-friendly city. One of London’s owners biggest issues with Wilton Manors is that there are not enough dog friendly places to go. We also have three human toddlers and find ourselves going to Oakland Park due to their more dog friendly and family friendly places. We hope this will change and want Wilton Manors to take after the changes that Oakland Park leadership have made.

  • Bio: Born in Louisiana, I found my way to South Florida through the Humane Society of Broward, and I've been loving the sunshine and sand between my toes ever since! I'm as happy playing with friends as I am curling up for a good snuggle. I love exploring Wilton Manors, especially Colohatchee where I get to connect with my community.

  • FENDI

    "Leading with a Curly Tail"
  • Bio: I am a member of a large family of four dogs. Each of us has a different story — two are rescues, one is the last of a litter needing a home, and me...

I don’t know much about my past. I know I was born in Missouri, suffered a serious retinal injury shortly after birth, and somehow ended up in Florida, aging out in a retail shop. My Human Dad saw me online, and that same night, drove three hours to get me. He says God whispered in his ear.

    We are chosen family.

For the past two years, my Human Dad and I have volunteered as a support team at an assisted living facility.
Sometimes you are the rescuer. Sometimes you are the rescuee.

I LEAD WITH A CURLY TAIL.
    Every day: CURLY TAIL.
Even while I sleep. CURLY TAIL.

My perky tail is joyful and uplifting-----a celebration of everything our community is and aspires to be.

And when my curly tail wiggles, something magical happens.
Children laugh. Neighbors reconnect. A community is renewed.

  • BENNY

    "Everything's Better with Benny!"
  • Bio: Rescued at six months old in Washington, DC, as a cherished family companion, Benny—an affectionate 8-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier—forged an extraordinary character from an early age. Growing up in a household with children and two non-profit professionals, he found his calling in community service. He spent weekends playing with the kids, comforting them at night, and navigating life alongside a sister who required extra patience, mastering diplomacy and the art of social connection. With that foundation, he undertook advanced training to become a stellar ambassador for his breed and maybe one day, fulfill his calling and dream of service.

Those dreams paused as the children grew up and his sister fell ill. Benny stood by her side with unwavering loyalty, offering steady comfort until she passed.

Seeking a fresh start and his next chapter, Benny moved full-time to Wilton Manors, falling in love with its vibrant walks and welcoming community. Paws-on Public Leadership: Backed by a rigorous ""political education"" and top-tier training, Benny handles bustling crowds and festive city events with steady composure, setting the standard as the first Dog Mayor and continuing to be a stellar Staffy ambassador. It is ""all hearts in and all paws-on"" with Benny!

Vigilant Island Defense: Deeply invested in protecting our tropical sanctuary—cheering on local parrots and manatees, championing responsible care for feral cats, and strictly enforcing duck pedestrian right-of-ways, all while maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against invasive iguanas—Benny ensures our streets and parks remain safe and welcoming for all.

From comforting others in Washington, DC to finding his true home in Wilton Manors, Benny's entire life has been leading up to this moment of public service. He is ready to bring joy, warmth, and steady paws to city hall.

He would be excited to represent the dogs of Wilton Manors at community events, special appearances, and around town. Whether he’s greeting a new friend, showing off his best smile, or simply giving someone a reason to stop and say hello, Oscar brings positive energy and tail wags wherever he goes.

Most importantly, Oscar would use his two years as Dog Mayor to help celebrate what makes Wilton Manors such a wonderful dog-loving community. He'd be a friendly face for local pups, a four-legged ambassador for the city, and a reminder that sometimes all you need is a wagging tail to bring people together.

Oscar is ready to serve, ready to socialize, and most importantly, ready to represent the pack!

Why would Oso make a great Dog Mayor?: Oso should be mayor because he wants to use his voice for dogs who don’t have one. There are so many amazing dogs sitting in shelters who get passed over because of their breed, size, or looks. Oso wants to help change that. Being mayor would give him the chance to bring more eyes to shelter dogs, break the stigma around bully breeds, and help more dogs get the second chance they deserve.

  • GEORGE

"Vote George. He's Always on the Ball."
  • Bio: George is a four-year-old Goldendoodle, rescue dog, ball enthusiast, and proud lifelong resident of Wilton Manors.

George had a bit of a journey before finding his forever home. Originally purchased from a breeder, his first family could no longer properly care for him after having a baby. His second home included two much bigger dogs who weren’t particularly welcoming. At 18 months old, George finally landed exactly where he belonged: Wilton Manors.

Today, George is a neighborhood regular, especially at Mickel Park, where he makes multiple appearances a day. His favorite is the early morning shift, when he gets to see his beloved park ranger, Christine. George is known by name throughout the neighborhood, and walks frequently turn into meet-and-greets.

His greatest passion is his orange rubber ball. Whether it’s being launched with a Chuckit!, tossed from his ball launcher, or temporarily replaced by a tennis ball, George is always ready for another round.

But George’s real talent is making friends. Kids regularly approach him for pets and treats, little dogs climb all over him, and George happily welcomes them all. He’s friendly, gentle, fun, and happiest when he’s right by your side.

When he’s not making the rounds in Wilton Manors, you might find George at Fort Lauderdale Beach, running off leash and enjoying the sand.

After all, Wilton Manors deserves a mayor who’s always on the ball!

Why would George make a great Dog Mayor?: George would make a great Dog Mayor because he already acts like one.

He makes his rounds through the neighborhood every day, knows his regulars, greets newcomers, and never misses an opportunity to make a new friend. At Mickel Park, kids come over to pet him, small dogs climb all over him, and neighbors regularly stop to say hello.

As a rescue who found his forever home in Wilton Manors, George represents something we love about our community: everyone is welcome here. It doesn’t matter who you are, where you came from, or how big or small you might be. George will happily make room for you.

His platform is pretty simple: more time outside, more play, more treats, and plenty of kindness. He promises to represent dogs of all sizes, support unlimited belly rubs, and never turn down a constituent who wants to throw his ball.

Most importantly, George loves his community.

Vote George. He’s always on the ball!

  • ROMEO

"A Mayor for Every Good Boy and Girl"
  • Bio: Romeo is a 5-year-old Bernedoodle and a proud member of the Wilton Manors community, where he lives with his two moms. He has a big personality and an even bigger heart.

For the past year and a half, he has been making the rounds from Townhouse Isles to Wilton Drive, greeting neighbors, checking in on local businesses, and conducting highly thorough investigations of every tree, signpost, and suspicious patch of grass along the way. No one knows exactly what neighborhood gossip he’s collecting, but judging by the amount of sniffing involved, Romeo is extremely well informed.

Romeo loves the beach, kayaking, relaxing in a shady spot by the water, chasing his ball, and keeping the local iguana population on its toes. He’s a regular at Wagpride, a familiar face around the neighborhood, and an enthusiastic supporter of any local establishment that welcomes dogs, especially if snacks are involved.

With his fluffy curls, expressive eyebrows, signature bandanas, and enthusiasm for greeting just about everyone he meets, Romeo has embraced Wilton Manors as his home, his community, and his territory.

Why would Romeo make a great Dog Mayor?: Dogs aren’t just pets in Wilton Manors, they’re family members, friends, neighbors, and part of what makes this town so special. Romeo thinks a four-legged community this important deserves a voice of its own. He’s ready to step up, lead the pack, and represent Wilton Manors’ dogs with heart, charm, and enthusiasm.

In many ways, Romeo is already doing the job. He’s out every day making the rounds, meeting neighbors, visiting local businesses, sniffing out the issues, and keeping up with what’s happening around town. That makes him a true grassroots candidate (literally).

Romeo loves that Wilton Manors is walkable, social, and full of pet-focused and pet-friendly businesses. He wants to support the places that welcome dogs, encourage more people and pups to spend local, and preserve the dog-friendly culture that makes the town unique. He also supports convenient poop-bag stations and trash cans to help keep shared spaces clean. If there’s a patio, a water bowl, and even the faintest chance of a treat, Romeo considers that solid economic development.

His leadership style is simple: support local, protect what makes Wilton Manors special, give every good boy and girl a voice, and keep a watchful eye on any iguanas causing trouble along the way.

  • PICKLE

"Kindness. Curiosity. And a Fairer Treat Policy."
  • Bio: Pickle is endlessly curious and endlessly friendly. She meets everyone like an old friend and makes every reunion feel like the most important moment of the day. A Brooklyn-born community enthusiast, Pickle has a gift for making people and dogs feel welcome wherever she goes.
She is gentle, soft-hearted, and always eager to make a new friend, but she also knows the importance of speaking up. When she believes her human needs to stop what they are doing and pay attention, she is not afraid to make her voice heard — usually with a well-timed bark and a very convincing argument.
Pickle loves exploring on walks, solving enrichment games, and discovering new places and people. She believes every neighbor deserves a proper greeting and every friendship deserves a second meeting.
Of course, she is not without her playful side. She occasionally reminds her humans who is really in charge by collecting hair accessories and shoes as “community donations.”
Whether she is meeting a new friend, welcoming back an old one, or investigating where the best treats can be found, Pickle approaches life with kindness, curiosity, and enthusiasm.

Why would Pickle make a great Dog Mayor?: Pickle believes a great mayor should listen carefully and get to the bottom of the issues that matter most to the community. As Dog Mayor, she will tackle the questions every dog and human has quietly debated:

How long should a neighborhood greeting last before it officially becomes a meeting?

How much of the bed does a human truly need? Is it time to revisit human bed space allocation?

If humans insist on sleeping under the blankets instead of properly arranging them into a comfortable dog nest, do they really need the blankets at all?

And, most importantly, is it truly fair to break treats into smaller pieces?

Pickle believes it is time to question the status quo, listen to all sides, and find solutions that work for everyone.
Because leadership means asking the important questions — even the ones involving beds, blankets, and treats. Because at the end of the day, if Pickle’s campaign makes someone smile, she believes she has already done what a good mayor should do.
