  • Mac & Mic Night: Cheesy in More Ways Than One! 🧀🎤
Get ready for a night of cheesiness as we continue the celebration of World Smile Day!

Participants will work in pairs in the kitchen to prepare our meal together: a Mac & Cheese Bar, Cheesy Garlic Bread and Punchline Punch!

🍝 Noodle Station — Cook and drain the pasta.

🧀 Cheese Station — Shred different cheeses and create our cheese blends.

🥓 Toppings Station — Prep bacon, chicken, green onions, crispy toppings, sauces and more for our Mac & Cheese Bar.

🥖 Cheesy Garlic Bread Station — Mix the garlic butter, spread, season, add cheese and bake.

🥤 Punchline Punch Station — Mix our drink, taste and adjust until we get it just right.

Then it’s time for the mic! 🎤
Through some seriously silly activities, we’ll practice real-world communication skills like speaking clearly, adding details, listening and responding, thinking on our feet, working with a partner and speaking in front of a group.

Mic Minutes — Select a topic and tell the group all about it for 60 seconds.

Silly Reporter Interviews — Reporter Ms. Lindsay will interview participants about some completely made-up situations, and they’ll have to improvise their answers on the spot.

Ridiculous Commercials — Working in pairs, participants will create and perform their own ridiculous infomercials for selected everyday items.

Corny Joke Stand-Up — Participants will take the mic and share some groan-worthy jokes of their own. Everyone should come prepared with 3–5 family-friendly corny jokes to share.

It will be a total cheese fest!

  • We will be making a Mac & Cheese Bar with two different mac and cheese flavors, Cheesy Garlic Bread, and Punchline Punch. Participants will work together to cook the pasta, shred and combine cheeses, prepare toppings such as bacon, chicken, green onions and crispy toppings, make the garlic bread, and mix our drink. Participants will be involved in preparing the meal and practicing a variety of kitchen skills, including measuring ingredients, shredding cheese, safely using kitchen tools and appliances, preparing toppings, following recipe steps, working with a partner, assembling their meal, and cleaning up afterward. Every participant will have the opportunity to contribute in a way that matches their abilities and comfort level. Please share any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or sensory preferences we should know about. Gluten-free pasta and bread can be provided if needed, and dairy-free alternatives may be available with advance notice. I’m happy to provide reasonable alternatives whenever possible so every participant can comfortably enjoy the experience.*
  • Workshop Policies & Expectations

  • Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops provides small, supportive creative workshops for teens and adults with developmental disabilities. Each workshop is thoughtfully designed to build confidence, foster creativity, and encourage meaningful friendships through theater, improv, visual arts, storytelling, and creative life enrichment experiences.

Workshops are led by me, Ms. Lindsay, along with my assistant, Ms. Amanda Guarnero. To help create a positive experience for everyone, participants should be able to engage safely and respectfully in group activities with the support provided by Ms. Lindsay's Creative Workshops.

My goal is to create a welcoming, encouraging environment where every participant feels valued, has the opportunity to express themselves creatively, discover new strengths, and build lasting friendships.
