Career Connections Partnership Application
KEDC’s Career Connections work is about helping people see and reach the opportunities that already exist here in Kodiak. Through Career Expo, local students have toured workplaces, practiced interviews, and learned directly from employers. At Confidence Café, students, job seekers, employees, and business leaders practiced customer service, communication, and workplace skills together. The Kodiak Workforce Forum brought employers, educators, workforce partners, and community members together to identify practical next steps. The Career Connections Partnership will build on that work by creating meaningful connections for people at every stage, from young people exploring their first career possibilities to adults entering the workforce, building new skills, changing careers, or growing in their current roles. Members may help develop workplace tours, job shadowing, internships, mentoring, career panels, hands-on workshops, hiring connections, or other practical ways to connect learning and work. As the Partnership gets established, members will meet twice a month to set priorities and plan the work together, then follow through on agreed activities between meetings. We will use applicants’ availability to help choose meeting times. The first meeting is planned for late October or early November 2026; the exact date will be confirmed. Anyone may apply. Students, job seekers, employees, employers, educators, mentors, and community partners can all contribute. Applications are reviewed with consideration for each applicant’s experience and contribution to the group as a whole. As part of the application process, KEDC’s Executive Director will meet with you to share more about the Partnership, discuss how you would like to participate, and answer your questions. KEDC will follow up about participation and meeting arrangements. Receipt of an application does not mean acceptance.
