  • Attendance Policy

CheerUP practices are held every Monday and Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Consistent attendance, punctuality, and active participation are essential to the success, development, and overall performance of each athlete and the team as a whole. All scheduled practices, performances, and competitions are mandatory. Athletes are expected to arrive on time, fully prepared, and ready to participate. Attendance at practices is especially important, as routines, choreography, stunts, and team formations are developed and reviewed regularly. An athlete’s absence may impact not only their individual progress but also the preparation and performance of the entire team.CheerUP enforces a 10-minute grace period for athlete arrival. This grace period applies to both excused and unexcused lateness. Athletes must be present and ready to participate no later than 6:10 PM. Any athlete who arrives after 6:10 PM will not be permitted to participate in practice that day, regardless of whether the lateness is excused or unexcused. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that athletes arrive on time and are prepared for scheduled practices. If an athlete anticipates being late or absent, the coaching staff should be notified as soon as possible. Please note that notifying the coaching staff of an absence or late arrival does not automatically excuse it.CheerUP maintains a strict attendance policy regarding unexcused absences. Two (2) unexcused absences will result in a verbal warning issued to the athlete and, when applicable, their parent or guardian. Three (3) unexcused absences will result in termination from the CheerUP team. Regular attendance is necessary to maintain team consistency, ensure athlete preparedness, and uphold the commitment required of all team members. Excused absences may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the coaching staff; however, all athletes are still expected to fulfill their team responsibilities and communicate any attendance concerns in a timely and professional manner.By participating in CheerUP, athletes and their parents/guardians acknowledge the importance of these policies and agree to comply with all attendance, punctuality, and participation expectations. CheerUP is committed to maintaining a structured, accountable, and supportive environment where every athlete has the opportunity to grow, develop their skills, and contribute positively to the team. Commitment, communication, and consistency are expected from every athlete and family throughout the season.

Athletes must arrive at each practice appropriately dressed and prepared to participate in all scheduled activities. Standard practice attire consists of all-black athletic wear (top and bottom) and white cheer shoes. Acceptable athletic wear includes spandex, leggings, fitted athletic tops, and other appropriate form-fitting activewear that allows for safe movement and full participation during conditioning, choreography, stunts, and other cheerleading activities.Official CheerUP cheer uniforms, other than the required all-black practice attire, will be purchased and provided by the coaching staff. Athletes and parents/guardians will be informed of any additional uniform requirements, associated costs, or arrangements, if applicable. All athletes are expected to wear their designated CheerUP uniforms whenever instructed by the coaching staff, including scheduled performances, competitions, team events, or specific practices. Uniforms must be kept clean, presentable, and in appropriate condition. Athletes are responsible for the proper care and maintenance of all uniforms issued to them.Athletes must also dress appropriately for the environment and weather conditions in which practice is being held. For outdoor practices, athletes are expected to wear weather-appropriate layers while maintaining compliance with CheerUP’s attire guidelines. Athletes attending practices in colder studio environments should arrive with appropriate warm-up clothing to remain comfortable and prepared for participation. Any additional attire requirements or modifications will be communicated by the coaching staff as needed.Compliance with the practice attire and uniform policy is mandatory. Athletes who arrive without the required attire, proper footwear, designated uniform, or appropriate clothing for the practice environment may be denied participation for that day at the discretion of the coaching staff. These expectations are in place to promote athlete safety, accountability, preparedness, and a professional team environment. Parents/guardians are expected to review these requirements with their athletes and ensure they are followed consistently throughout the season.
