MMEA MTEL Study Group Pilot Program Application 2026-2027

Program Information

The goal of the MMEA Music MTEL Study Group is provide support to pre-service or early career music educators who are preparing for the Music MTEL. This will be a supportive environment to help develop study skills and test taking strategies.

Sessions will run from November 2026 through May 2027.

There will be two monthly group sessions (Mondays from 7:30-8:30PM) on Zoom. Participants are expected to attend at least 80% of these synchronous sessions.

Mentors will also offer participants monthly office hours for more individual support.

This pilot program will support ten pre-service/early career teachers taking the Music MTEL in late Spring 2027.

Deadline

This application must be completed by 11:59PM on Friday, October 23, 2026.

Applicants will receive notifications of acceptance on or before Friday, October 30, 2026.

MTEL Voucher/Reimbursement

Participants who fully participate in the program and meet all expectations (including 80% attendance of synchronous meetings) will be eligible for reimbursement or a voucher for the cost of their MTEL Music Subject Matter Test.
