Leadership Lafayette | Class XL Application (2027)
Application Process
Selection of participants is based on the information provided on this application. Please allow ample time for the following steps:
1. Read through the full application and dedicate time to respond to the essay questions.
2. Download the commitment statement. Review the policies, sign, and get your employer's signature. Full support from your employer is a program requirement.
3. If applicable, complete the application for tuition assistance.
4. Submit your completed online application by Friday, November 20 at 5:00PM. Pay the $30 application fee via credit card to complete the application.
5. Optional: Schedule a 15-minute call with the program director to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about the process, or attend one of our webinars or coaching sessions.
Leadership Lafayette is a competitive and selective process. Completing an application does not guarantee participation into the program.

Application Timeline
- Applications are available until Friday, November 20, at 5:00PM.
- The selections committee will convene during early December to review applications.
- Applicants will be notified of their status the week of December 14-18.
- Participants selected to participate in the 2027 program year must submit tuition by February 12, 2027, to enroll in the program.
Selection Criteria
The Selection Committee is made up of a diverse group of Leadership Lafayette alumni who remain anonymous during the process. When the committee selects each incoming cohort, they consider the following:
- Applicants should live or work in Lafayette Parish or the immediate surrouding area.
- Applicants must have the full support of the organization for whom the applicant works.
- Applicants must be willing and able to commit to the mandatory retreat and the time necessary to complete the program.
- Ideal candidates will also display:
  - A commitment to expand and further develop their leadership skills and to increase their civic and community involvement.
  - A willingness to explore different experiences and points of view.
  - A commitment to using the Leadership Lafayette experience for the long-term benefit of the community.
- In addition, the Selection Committee focuses on building a diverse cohort to ensure broad representation from a variety of occupational, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, as well as geographic areas and community interests.

Tuition Assistance
Alumni and corporate sponsorship allow us to offer a limited amount of need-based tuition assistance. Tuition assistance is capped at $1,000 per individual for the 2027 program year.

To request tuition assistance, complete the request form at this link. The form must be completed by the application deadline of Friday, November 20, at 5:00PM to be considered. The submission of a tuition assistance request does not guarantee funding.

Tuition assistance requests do not impact the selection process.
