I understand that attendance at a dog training class is not without risk to myself, members of my family or guests who may attend, or my dog, because some of the dogs to which I (we) will be exposed may be difficult to control and may be the cause of injury even when handled with the greatest amount of care. I hereby waive and release Teamworks Dog Training, its officers, employees, owners, members, and agents from any injury or damage resulting from the action of the dog, and I expressly assume the risk of any such damage or injury while attending any training session or while on the training grounds or the surrounding area thereto. In consideration of and as inducement to the acceptance of my application for training I hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless Teamworks Dog Training, its officers, employees, members, and agents from any and all claims, or claims by any member of my family or any other person accompanying me to any training session or while on the grounds or the surrounding area thereto as a result of any action of any dog, including my own.
General policies:
• Any canine that is part wild canine and that is not 100% domestic dog will not be allowed in class.
• Any dog which, in the opinion of the training instructor, is uncontrollable, unpredictable, or aggressive will be removed from a core class and referred for private instruction or specialty behavior classes.
• There should be one primary handler who attends every class, and up to one assistant.
• All classes, consultations, seminars, and private lessons with guest instructors must be paid in full ahead of time. In the case of early registration for a popular class, a seminar, or private lessons with a guest instructor, payment is due no later than 30 days after the registration date on the application. In the case of late registration (less than a month before start date), payment is due no later than 3 days before the group class or consultation. Failure to pay for a pre-reserved spot after these deadlines will result in forfeiture of the spot. No exceptions will be made.
• Anyone aged 7 -17 participating in a core class must have a parent or responsible adult as a primary handler or as an assistant during every class. The exception to this policy is Teamworks Kids Camp, where kids may be dropped off for the class (due to the greater ratio of instructors to students, and the training requirements for the participating dogs).
• Family members other than the primary handler and assistant are welcome to attend, but for consistency sake, should watch the class and then participate in training at home, under the direction of the primary handler.
• Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a non-participating adult at all times while on the premises.
• Primary handlers over 18 years of age are required for the Reactive Dogs and Fearful Fidos classes. Children and visitors are not allowed in the Reactive Dogs and Fearful Fidos classes, due to the nature of the behavior of the dogs in the class. Children and visitors are welcome at all classes except the Reactive Dogs and Fearful Fidos classes, under the conditions stated above.
• All dogs must remain on leash when on the premises of the training facilities.
• All owners must clean up after their dogs when on the premises of the training facilities.
• Female dogs in heat are not allowed in the building or anywhere on the training grounds. Owners may request a transfer to the next available class at no charge.
Video taping is not allowed in seminars. Video taping of classes may be done only by written permission from Teamworks Dog Training. Audio taping of seminars and classes is allowed.
Absentee policy:
• Owners should sign up for a class session that they can attend.
• In fairness to everyone, and in an effort to keep class sizes consistent, MAKE UP CLASSES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE. If you know you are going to miss a class, and would like to schedule a private lesson with your instructor to be tutored on the missed class, private lessons are available at the current rate per half hour, scheduled at your instructor's convenience. Please contact your instructor directly for private lessons.
• Attendance by the primary handler at orientation and the first three classes of a core class is absolutely critical for the dog's success in the class. Absentees during these first four classes may be asked to transfer to a later session at the instructor's discretion.
• Any absence at an introductory level agility class will have a significant effect on the dog's progress and will put that dog behind the rest of the class, thus slowing the progress of the entire class. If you know you are going to miss a class, and would like to schedule a private lesson with your instructor to be tutored on the missed class, private lessons are available at the current rate per half hour, scheduled at your instructor's convenience. All agility goals for the class must be met before the dog can move on to the next class level. For this reason, if the handler is absent for more than two classes, the handler will be asked to transfer to the next session to repeat the class.
Refund policy:
• Full credit/transfer/refund if Teamworks Dog Training cancels class.
• Full credit/transfer or refund minus 10% non-refundable processing fee if client cancels 14 calendar days or more in advance of class start date.
• Credit/transfer/refund minus 15% non-refundable processing fee if client cancels less than 14 days in advance of class start date.
• Clients who transfer after the start date of a class will be charged a 20% non-refundable processing fee.
• If client cancels after starting class, the refund will be prorated and 20% non-refundable processing fee will also be deducted.
• All cancellations and transfer requests must be received in writing.
• All classes are subject to changes in schedule due to inclement weather and occasional conflicts in the instructor's schedule. Please note that the instructor will make a reasonable attempt to accommodate all students in the class for make-up lessons, however, regularly scheduled classes missed due to personal schedule conflicts can only be made up by private lessons at an additional fee, and are not refundable.
Inclement weather policy:
In the case of inclement weather, please call the Teamworks weather hotline at 919-340-0120. Instructors will leave a message on this voice mail box if classes will be cancelled. Please do not leave a message on this voice mail box for your instructor. You may email your instructor directly at the email address listed on our website. Instructors will also attempt to contact students by email or voice mail regarding cancellations. Classes that are cancelled due to inclement weather will be made up as specially-arranged make-up sessions or by adding one week onto the end of class at the instructor's discretion. Please allow at least two extra weeks at the end of the class schedule for make-up classes in case of inclement weather.
