• Membership Pause Request

This form is for requesting a temporary pause on your membership due to an extended absence.

This is a pause, not a cancellation. Your membership doesn't end — it's simply put on hold, and your spot, rank, and progress are all exactly where you left them when you're back.

Please read the policy below before continuing.

    Pause Policy

    • Pauses are available in full-month increments only (1–4 months) — partial-month pauses aren't available
    • All pause requests require at least 7 days' notice. This form won't let you select a start date closer than that, so plan your request accordingly
    • Any payment scheduled within the next 7 days is still due and is non-refundable
    • No classes, services, belt promotions, or open mat may be attended during a pause. Attending any of these results in an immediate full-month charge — not prorated, regardless of timing. There is no option to pay a single drop-in fee while paused
    • Need to end your pause early? Email billing@10thplanetsm.com — see the terms below for how that affects your next payment

How Billing Works During a Pause

Pausing does not change your billing day of the month — it stays exactly where it's always been (e.g. the 5th). What does shift is the actual date of your next charge, since payments equal to your number of paused months are skipped rather than charged during the pause.

    Example:

    • Your regular billing date: the 5th of each month
    • Your pause begins March 7, for 2 months
    • Your training resumes May 7
    • Result: your April 5th and May 5th payments are both skipped, and your next payment processes normally on June 5th

  • Terms of Pause Agreement

By submitting this form, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

    1. This is a temporary pause, not a cancellation. My membership remains active and will automatically resume — I am not canceling, and no separate re-enrollment is required.
    2. Billing will resume on the same day of the month. My billing day (e.g. the 5th) never changes. Payments equal to my number of paused months are skipped, so my next charge lands on that same day of the month, just further out than it would have without the pause.
    3. Notice requirement. I confirm this request meets 10PSM's required minimum of 7 days' notice before my requested pause start date.
    4. Payments within the notice window are due. Any payment scheduled within 7 days of this request will still be charged and is non-refundable.
    5. Pause length. I have selected a pause length in full-month increments, up to a maximum of 4 months. Partial-month pauses are not available, and I understand I'll need to submit a new request or contact 10PSM directly if I need additional time beyond what I've selected here.
    6. No access during the pause — no exceptions. While paused, I will not attend any classes, services, belt promotions, or open mat sessions. There is no drop-in option available during a pause. If I attend any class, service, belt promotion, or open mat while paused, I will be charged a full month's membership payment immediately, regardless of how much time remains in my pause or how many days or months have already passed. This charge is separate from, and not subject to, the early-termination rounding terms in item 7, which apply only to a voluntary written request submitted to billing@10thplanetsm.com — not to unauthorized attendance.
    7. Ending a pause early. If I want to end my pause before its selected end date, I must email billing@10thplanetsm.com. My pause credit is based on the number of full months actually completed as of the date I request early termination — not the date I originally selected when I paused. I will not receive credit for a partial month.
Example: I select a 2-month pause starting March 7 (scheduled unpause date May 7).If I request early termination before April 7 — before completing even 1 full month — for example, on March 20, I receive no pause credit. My April 5th payment is charged as normal, exactly as if I had not paused at all.
If I request early termination on or after April 7 but before May 7 — after completing exactly 1 full month — for example, on April 20, I receive 1 month of credit. My April 5th payment is skipped, and my next payment is due May 5th.
If I let the full 2-month pause run its course, both my April 5th and May 5th payments are skipped, and my next payment is due June 5th, as normal.
    8. This agreement stands on its own. This pause request does not otherwise change, waive, or replace any other terms of my original membership agreement with 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu San Mateo / Red Training Center, LLC.
