LowFest® 2027 Call for Proposals

Application Deadline - December 15th, 2026
Calling all alto, basset horn, bass, contra-alto, and contrabass clarinetists to Québec, Canada for the 3rd biennial International Clarinet Association LowFest, October 24-27, 2027, at Laval University.

This four-day event will feature:
- Solo, chamber, and non-traditional performances featuring low clarinets (alto clarinet, basset horn, bass clarinet, contra-alto, and contrabass clarinets)
- Masterclasses
- Jam Sessions open to all
- Presentations/Clinics
- Young Artist and High School Competitions
- Excerpt mock auditions
- Composition Competition
- Low Clarinet Choir
- Exhibits with sheet music, instruments, mouthpieces, reeds, ligatures, cases, repair stations, and everything low clarinet!
ICA members are invited to submit proposals for live seminars and performances under 25 minutes.

Proposals featuring underrepresented composers are encouraged. Special consideration will be given to proposals from current students, and performance/presentation slots will be held during the festival to feature these student performers/presenters.

Disclaimer: The ICA cannot commit to programming works that require significant financial contribution from the ICA itself beyond a standard projected budget, including (but not limited to) fees for collaborative artists, A/V setup, technical requirements, and instrument rentals. The proposing artist and/or their sponsors are solely responsible for securing the additional funds to accommodate the performance. Failure to communicate these requirements with the ICA may result in the cancellation of the performance, even if the proposal is initially accepted.
