Waiver and Release of Liability

Queer Yoga (+allies)

The organizer and team members  are committed to the ongoing education and the unlearning of exclusion, as such, we are open to continuing conversations, outside of the space, with those who do not understand the policy or our decisions

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the event, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:

Respect and Kindness
- I agree to be respectful and kind to all participants, instructors, and event staff.
- Any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. One of the team members will approach them to engage in conversation. Given the low sensory intention of our events, this could mean stepping outside or into a private area. 

-  A team member will explain or offer a reminder of this policy to the individual without making assumptions about the person’s intentions
and allowing them to respond, clarify, or express their feelings. If harmful behavior continues, it may result in removal from the event.

Assumption of Risk
- I understand that participation in yoga activities involves physical movement, which may be strenuous and may cause physical injury.
- I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved and accept these risks voluntarily, including the risk of injury, death, and property damage.

Medical Clearance
- I confirm that I am in good health and have no medical condition that would prevent my participation in the Gentle Moves event.
- I will inform the event organizers of any health concerns or conditions that may affect my participation.

COVID-19 Protocols
- I agree to follow all COVID-19 safety protocols as mandated by Canadian health authorities and the event organizers.
- I will practice social distancing, wear a mask when required, and follow any other guidelines provided to ensure the safety of all participants.
- I will not attend the event if I am experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms, have tested positive, or have been in contact with someone who has tested positive within 14 days of the event.

Consent Cards for Physical Contact
- I understand that Consent Cards will be provided to indicate my comfort level with physical contact during the yoga sessions.
- I acknowledge that I can change my Consent Card status at any time during the class to reflect my current comfort level.

Release and Waiver
- I release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue the organizers, instructors, volunteers, and any associated parties of the Gentle Moves event from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me while participating in the event.

Indemnification
- I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organizers, instructors, volunteers, and any associated parties from any loss, liability, damage, or costs that may incur due to my participation in the event specified above.

Please return this signed waiver to the event organizers before participating in any activities. Thank you for your cooperation!
