What's motivating you to take on this epic challenge supporting Camp Casco in 2027?

What is the extent of your hiking experience? Please be sure to note the longest and/or most challenging hikes you have completed to date.
Do you have experience hiking in the White Mountains? If yes, please describe, and note which hikes you have completed.
Do you have any other relevant athletic experience we should know about? (Ex: running, biking, climbing, etc.)
All Camp Champions will have a 6-month window from December 2026 through June 2027 to prepare both mentally and physically for this difficult hike on 6/12 and 6/13. What will you do to prepare to hike the Presidential Traverse? What do you expect your biggest training challenges to be, and how do you plan to address them?
Where else in your life have you demonstrated commitment and resilience? What is the most difficult thing you've overcome?
Do you have any pre-existing injuries or conditions that we should be aware of if you are selected to be a Camp Champion?
We require documentation of at least two hikes you've completed in the past 12 months, using screenshots from Garmin, Strava, or similar athletic tracking applications. We are specifically looking for evidence of distance, pace, elevation from recent hikes, as strong candidates for this program must be able to sustain a moving pace of at least 1.6mph on challenging hikes. You may upload these screenshots now, or submit them by November 2 to hikes@campcasco.org.

Fundraising Experience
Each Camp Champion commits to raise a minimum of $2,000 by June 21, 2027, to send a child affected by cancer to Camp Casco 2027.

50% ($1000) of that fundraising minimum must be reached by March 29, 2027, in order to receive two nights of guaranteed lodging at Joe Dodge Lodge on Friday 6/11 and Saturday 6/12. JDL provides warm showers, delicious meals, cozy beds, and the special camaraderie that only comes with being able to relax around the fire and unwind together.

Camp Champions who do not reach at least 50% of their commitment by March 26 will be responsible for providing their own lodging before and after the hike.

We offer a second in-person hike program, Summit Seekers, in which a small hike team will take on a one-day hike of Mount Washington on June 12, 2027. If you are not offered a space as a Camp Champion, would you like to be considered for a space as a Summit Seeker?

Participation Agreement
I certify that I am 18 years or older (or will be by June 12, 2027), and am willing to undergo a background check at no cost to myself.
I understand that I am expected to adequately prepare myself both mentally and physically for this challenge. I understand that I should notify Camp Casco immediately if this changes at any time.
I understand that, if selected, I am expected to arrive to the White Mountains in the afternoon of Friday, June 11, and that hike weekend will end in the evening of Sunday, June 13. I understand that I am responsible for providing my own travel to and from Camp Champions hike weekend.
I understand that, if selected, I am committing to raise a minimum of $2,000 by June 21, 2027. I understand that certain benefits, including lodging and meals at Joe Dodge Lodge, will be provided by Camp Casco only if I have raised at least 50% of my fundraising minimum by March 29, 2027. If I do not meet this fundraising milestone, I will be responsible for securing my own lodging and meals for hike weekend.
