2027 AFG Role Model Award Criteria
Each year, Alternatives For Girls (AFG) seeks to identity role models who are making a difference in the metropolitan Detroit community. Their accomplishments have shown positive impact in the lives of girls and women, and resonate with the mission of AFG. An ideal role model inspires, motivates, and exemplifies excellence, both professionally and personally. AFG expects to name three role models to be honored at the Role Model Celebration on Thursday, March 4, 2027, at The MotorCity Casino in Detroit, MI.
AFG is committed to identifying and considering potential role model award recipients who share and represent the values inherent in our organization's mission.
A qualified candidate for the 2027 Role Model Award will meet the following criteria:
-Identify as a female.
-Be a strong advocate for girls and women.
-Live or have worked in the metropolitan Detroit region.
-Be recognized as an accomplished inspirational leader through community service and commitment to making a difference in the metropolitan Detroit community.
-Have demonstrated professional accomplishments within the industry in which she works.
-Demonstrate creativity, skill, and pursuit of excellence in all she does.
-Be willing to attend a Role Model Awardee kick-off meeting.
-Be willing to attend and publicly accept a role model award at the 2027 Role Model Celebration on the evening of March 4, 2027.
-Be willing to share a personal story that will be inspirational for our participants based on life-experience, and/or overcoming obstacles on the path to extraordinary accomplishments.
