The NTVS Health & Wellness Grant Initiative provides Nisga’a Ts’amiks members with an opportunityto apply for funding to participate in sport, recreational & wellness activities.

Eligible + Ineligible Expenses

Each fiscal year from April 1 to Dec 1, Nisga’a citizens whose ordinary residence is within the Nisga’a Ts’amiks Vancouver Society treaty boundary is eligible for a subsidy up to $75.00 to help our Nisga’a Ts’amiks citizens engage in health and wellness activities. This program operates on a reimbursement basis. This means that citizens are required to provide receipt of payment with the application to receive the grant.

1. Acceptable Expenses:
a. Sport or recreational enrolment fees
b. Sport or recreational gear: runners, cleats, sport uniform etc.
c. WINTER WEAR (APPLICABLE TO ELDERS 55+ AND CHILDREN 5 & UNDER ONLY.) Winter Boots or Winter Coat

2. Expenses NOT applicable:
a. Wellness fees covered under non-insured benefits: massage or physiotherapy
b. Vitamins or supplements (may be covered under non-insured benefits)
c. Prescriptions
d. Active wear clothing and accessories (Leggings, socks, shorts, sports bra, sweatbands, sleeves)
e. NO SANDALS!

FAQ:

- How will I know if you received my application?
Check your inbox or Junk folder for an automatic email response (DO NOT REPLY TO THAT EMAIL)

-When will I get my payment?
Applications will be processed every two weeks. Approved applications will receive a cheque in the mail once processing is complete.

-Who do I inquire regarding my application?
Please email receptionist@tsamiks.com or call the front desk at 778-625-0334.

-I applied and received my payment, what now?
Nisga'a Ts'amiks members may apply for this grant only once per fiscal year since you are eligible to receive UP TO $75.00

-My receipt amount is $70, do I still get the full $75?
Following policy, yes. If the amount is within a $5 radius you are eligible to receive the full $75.00

-What if my receipt amount is less than $75.00?
Lets say you purchased a swim pass that was $60, we would reimburse you the $60.00 and you are still eligible to claim up to $15.00 with a receipt that still follows the eligible expenses.
