    1) Check with your director to ensure that they will sponsor you and that you meet all eligibility requirements.
    2) Make sure you understand all the musical elements of the audition for your instrument(s).
    3) You will pay for your audition fee(s) using a credit card at the end of this form. Make sure to have this information ready.     This application will close on 11/13/2026 and we will accept no submissions after that time. Make sure your sponsoring teacher receives your signature page prior to 11/20/2026 so they may submit it with their materials.

  • Important Notice to All Auditionees

  • Students in CJMEA are given the option to perform in more than one instrumental ensemble. Read carefully about each option before moving to the next page:

    1) Wind Ensemble/Symphonic Band Only - Selecting this option will only make you eligible for the Wind Ensemble or Symphonic Band

    2) Orchestra/Percussion Ensemble Weekend Only - You will only be eligible for ensembles on the Orchestra Weekend. (This includes percussionists interested in Percussion Ensemble.*)

    3) Both Weekends - This option may place you into two ensembles if your audition places you highly enough. Before selecting this option, consider whether your schedule will allow you to attend both weekends worth of rehearsals. Note that you no longer need to miss a day of school to attend Friday rehearsals in January.

    • Example 1: A clarinet player selects the "Both Weekends" option and has the highest scoring audition. This student will earn a chair in both the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra.
    • Example 2: A clarinet player selects the "Both Weekends" option and finishes tenth overall. This student will earn a position in one of the bands, but likely scores too low to receive a position in the Orchestras.

    *Percussionists will get placed into either an Orchestra or the Percussion Ensemble based on the needs of each group at the discretion of the audition committee.

  • - If you will audition on multiple instruments, double check that you have listed each of those instruments above. Each instrument requires a $28 fee. You no longer need to submit a second application for a second instrument.- Once your application has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation at the e-mail address entered above. Your sponsoring teacher will also receive a confirmation of your application.- Your next step is to click on the link for the signature page. Please print it and complete it with your name, instrument/s, signature, and parent/guardian signature. You need to complete only ONE signature form.- Submit the completed form to your sponsoring teacher. They will submit the form to the registrar. Any signature page submitted directly from a student will be returned and the application voided. Registration deadlines appear at the top of this form and on the signature form.
