• ArtLabs Artist Workshop Application

  • Thanks for your interest in hosting a Lab at ArtLabs: Creative Collab!

A "Lab" is our fancy word for a workshop, class or experience. Art is all about experimentation. When you think about it that way, its not so daunting. Everyone is included!

ArtLabs was created to bring local artists, makers, and creatives together to share their skills, connect with the community, and give people more opportunities to create. We’re always excited to discover new artists and workshop ideas that can bring something fun, approachable, and inspiring to the studio.

This application helps us learn a little about you, your creative background, and the Lab(s) you’d like to teach. You may submit up to three workshop concepts for consideration. We’ll review each proposal for its fit with the ArtLabs community, brand, studio values, audience, and overall experience.

A quick note about examples of your work:
Please upload photographs of real, original work that you have personally created and are capable of teaching. Reference examples should accurately represent the type and quality of project participants can expect to create during your Lab.

Please do not submit AI-generated artwork, AI-generated project mockups, or AI-generated images as examples of your work. We want to see your creativity, skills, and actual finished projects. If your Lab is selected, the submitted example may also help us understand the project, materials, difficulty level, and how best to present the workshop to our community.

You do not need to be a professional instructor to apply. If you have a creative skill you’re comfortable sharing with others and a project you’re excited to teach, we’d love to learn more about it.

  • Application Review & Approval

Submitting an application does not guarantee approval or scheduling. All proposed Labs are reviewed for alignment with the ArtLabs: Creative Collab brand, studio values, creative direction, audience, and overall studio environment. ArtLabs reserves the right to decline a proposal or request modifications when necessary to ensure a Lab is a good fit for the studio.

Final workshop details, including date, pricing, materials, and promotional information, must be approved by ArtLabs before the Lab is published or tickets are made available.

    Independent Instructor Relationship
Opportunities to host Labs at ArtLabs are offered on an independent contractor basis and are not offers of employment, full-time or part-time positions, or guarantees of ongoing work.

Approved instructors operate as independent creative professionals and may be contracted to host individual Labs or workshops based on availability and mutual agreement. Each Lab is considered separately, and approval of one workshop does not guarantee future bookings. Artlabs has the right to cancel any bookings due to low attendance or scheduling conflicts.

Compensation, responsibilities, materials, payment terms, cancellation policies, and any required tax documentation will be outlined in the Instructor Agreement completed before the Lab is scheduled.

    Payout timing
ArtLabs pays artists within 3–5 business days after each completed Lab, and no later than the fifth business day. A payout summary will show ticket revenue, the agreed artist share, tips, and any adjustments permitted under the written agreement.

Artist sets the ticket price, with a minimum of $55 per participant. ArtLabs supplies the space, event listing, ticket sales and registration, customer communication, promotion through ArtLabs channels, and event check-in/logistics. The artist handles the Lab concept, instruction, preparation, applicable supplies, communicating requirements, and cleanup. ArtLabs supplies materials — 50% Artist / 50% ArtLabs OR Artist supplies materials — 70% Artist / 30% ArtLabs. Artists keep 100% of tips, you've earned it!

  • We Respect your Creative Ideas

We respect the creativity and original ideas of every artist who applies to collaborate with ArtLabs. Workshop concepts, project ideas, examples, and other creative materials submitted through this application are provided for the purpose of reviewing your proposed Lab only. ArtLabs will not take an applicant’s original workshop concept or creative materials submitted through this application and reproduce or use them as our own without permission. We understand that similar project ideas and creative concepts may exist independently within the broader art and maker community. This statement is intended to protect the original work you share with us while recognizing that general themes, techniques, materials, and project types may naturally overlap.
