We’re planning a special multigenerational family trip to Chicago centered around a visit to the Obama Presidential Center, along with opportunities to experience Black Chicago history, culture, food, theater, and — of course — Chicago pizza!

Our primary Obama Presidential Center visit is planned for Saturday, May 15.

This inquiry form will help me understand who is interested in joining us, your accommodation needs, the activities that interest you, and your approximate budget.

Saturday, May 15 — Obama Presidential Center Day
The centerpiece of our trip!

We'll spend the day experiencing the Obama Presidential Center, its museum, exhibits, public spaces, art, gardens and surrounding campus.

Guided experiences will depend on what is available through the Obama Presidential Center for our date and group.

Saturday Evening — Theater in Hyde Park

For those interested, we are exploring attending a performance of safronia at Court Theatre, a work by Chicago Poet Laureate avery r. young celebrating Black history, music, storytelling and the Great Migration.

(Depending on theater ticket availability this could be adjusted to a Sunday matinee)

Sunday, May 16 — Explore Black Chicago

Sunday will offer opportunities to explore more of Chicago's extraordinary Black history and culture.

Enjoy breakfast and/or a little neighborhood exploration before checking out and heading home.

Departure transportation will be coordinated based on individual flight/train schedules whenever practical.

We are exploring private group transportation for activities during the weekend so that our multigenerational group can travel together comfortably.
