I discovered this opportunity through another NHS GP colleague.
I’ve always loved travelling, so the potential savings immediately appealed to me. What I didn’t expect was the opportunity to earn commission too - or to discover how many other professionals were already doing the same alongside their main job!
Since starting, while recovering from cancer, I’ve
saved nearly £2,000 and earned nearly £5,000
, mainly just through bookings for myself, friends, family and colleagues.
So how does it work?
Money for commission is already built into the price you pay for most things travel and leisure (something I had no idea about before as a doctor!). When you book through online travel platforms, they earn commission from your booking (even if it feels as though you are booking 'direct' as you are doing it yourself). As an independent travel agent, you have access to travel agent platforms and you can see great rates and offers, and earn the commission yourself when booking something, rather than it going to a big company.
And it’s not just holidays. I can also access discounts and/or commission for booking
theatre, musicals, comedy, afternoon teas, activities, car hire and more
.
That’s one of my favourite things about it - I’m essentially turning things we already enjoy into
an additional income stream
.
There are also perks such as
FAM trips
- discounted or hosted trips where travel professionals can experience hotels, cruises and destinations first-hand.
As a doctor, my income always depended on me physically being at work. I absolutely love medicine and have no intention of giving it up, but discovering another way to earn has been a real eye-opener. I really wish I’d known about it sooner!
I now have a team of
