1. COURSE & ATTENDANCE
The Puppy Course consists of 4 in-person group sessions. Your place is reserved for the puppy named on this form.
Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes before your class, as trainers will be setting up. Please wait outside The Dog House until a trainer comes to collect you. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you will not be permitted to join the class. Please avoid allowing puppies to meet or interact on lead while waiting outside.
2. OWNER RESPONSIBILITY
Owners are responsible for their puppy’s care, control and behaviour throughout the course and must follow trainer instructions.
3. GROUP CLASS SUITABILITY
The Dog House reserves the right to recommend 1-to-1 training before or instead of group classes where we feel this would be more appropriate for the puppy or group.
4. EQUIPMENT
Prong collars and e-collars are not permitted during the course. Trainers may recommend suitable equipment where appropriate.
5. HANDLERS
A maximum of 2 handlers per puppy may attend. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
6. HEALTH, VACCINATIONS & ALLERGIES
Owners must ensure their puppy is fit and well enough to attend and meets the relevant vaccination requirements for group classes. Please do not bring a puppy who is unwell or showing signs of contagious illness.
Please inform the trainers of any allergies or dietary requirements, as treats may be given during sessions.
7. SAFETY & RESPONSIBILITY
While trainers take reasonable precautions to maintain a safe environment, owners acknowledge that attending group sessions carries some inherent risks. Trainers cannot accept responsibility for injury to you or your puppy, or for sickness or disease contracted during or as a result of attending sessions.
8. DOGS SUBJECT TO LEGAL RESTRICTIONS
Dogs subject to legal restrictions, including restrictions under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and relevant XL Bully legislation, must comply with all applicable legal requirements.
9. BOOKING & PAYMENT
Once your puppy’s place has been confirmed, you have 48 hours to pay the £120 course fee by bank transfer using the details provided.
Your place is only secured once this form has been signed and payment received. If payment is not received within 48 hours, the space may be offered to another puppy.
10. CANCELLATION & REFUNDS
Cancellation more than 5 days before the course starts: full refund.
Cancellation within 5 days of the course starting: 50% refund.
Once the course has started, missed sessions are non-refundable, including absences due to illness, holidays or personal circumstances. If you do not attend any of the four sessions once the course has started, no refund will be given.
11. TRAINING PROGRESS
Every puppy is different. Progress over the four weeks will depend on the puppy, handler and the amount of training and practice completed outside of class.
12. WHATSAPP SUPPORT
The course includes access to a WhatsApp support chat for questions and feedback between sessions. This is for general course support and training advice and does not replace in-person training, individual behavioural assessment or veterinary advice.
The WhatsApp group is available to you while you are actively attending the course.
13. FREE INTRODUCTORY SWIM
The optional introductory swim at The Dog House Splash Zone must be booked directly with the Splash Zone, subject to availability and their safety and suitability requirements. The swim must be claimed and used during the 4-week Puppy Course period and cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred or carried over.
14. BEHAVIOUR & CONDUCT
We want our classes to be a safe, positive and respectful environment for puppies, owners and staff.
Violent, threatening, aggressive or abusive behaviour towards staff or other attendees will not be tolerated.
Dogs must be handled kindly and appropriately at all times. Physical or abusive treatment of a dog will not be tolerated.
If an owner behaves inappropriately or staff have concerns about the treatment of a dog, we reserve the right to ask the owner to leave immediately, with no refund.
If a puppy is not suitable for the group environment or is causing significant disruption that cannot be safely managed, we may ask the owner to stop attending the group course.
Where appropriate, we may recommend 1-to-1 training to provide more individual support.
Decisions regarding class suitability will be made with the safety and wellbeing of all puppies, owners and staff in mind.
