  • About the Missouri Class Championships:

    Format: G/90 + d/15. Six Class Championship Sections:

    • Master/Expert (2000+): $300-1st, $200-2nd
    • Class A (1800-1999): $200-1st, $100-2nd
    • Class B (1600-1799): $200-1st, $100-2nd
    • Class C (1400-1599): $200-1st, $100-2nd
    • Class D (1200-1399): $200-1st, $100-2nd
    • Under 1200: $200-1st, $100-2nd

    Missouri Class Champion Plaque awarded to the winner of each section.

    Each section plays only players in its own section. Small sections may be combined for pairing but will keep separate prizes. Players may “play up” one section above their official rating. Out-of-state players are welcome.

    Registration: Saturday 8:30-9:30 am.

    Round Times: Saturday-10:00 am, 2:30 pm, 7:00 pm. Sunday-9:30 am, 2:00 pm.

    Entry fee: $50.00 by 6pm 11/5, $60.00 on site.

    Byes: Maximum one ½-point bye.

    Membership: USCF and Missouri Chess Association membership required. MCA membership is required; O.S.A. is available on site from $5.

  • About the Missouri Class - Novice Championship:

    Novice Championship: Players rated Under 1000 or Unrated are eligible. New-player friendly tournament!

    Rounds: G/45 + d/5. Each player gets 45 minutes with a 5 second time delay.

    Round Times: Saturday – 10am, 12:15pm, 2:15pm, 4:30pm
    Rounds are paired using the “Swiss” system. Players play all four rounds, no eliminations.

    Entry Fee: $20 pre-registered by 6pm 11/5. Or $25 on site the day of the event.

    Membership: USCF and Missouri Chess Association membership is required. May be purchased ahead of time or on site during registration.

    Registration: Onsite registration from 8:30-9:30am

    Prizes: Based on 15 Entries:
    1st Place: Novice State Champion Trophy and $100. 2nd: $75, 3rd: $50
