Thank you for your interest in serving as a student leader of the NSBE Jr. Rising Engineers of North Texas Chapter! Serving as an officer is an opportunity to develop leadership, communication, organization, teamwork, STEM advocacy, and professional skills while helping our chapter create meaningful experiences for its members.

• Preside over official chapter meetings.
• Help establish and communicate chapter goals and priorities.
• Work with the Chapter Advisor and Executive Board to plan chapter activities and programs.
• Represent the chapter at appropriate NSBE Jr. activities and events.
• Recommend students for Committee Chair positions and vacant offices, with the advice and consent of the Executive Board.
• Help ensure that chapter activities support the mission and goals of NSBE Jr.
• Assist with preparing the chapter's annual activities report for NSBE National Headquarters Programs Team.
• Encourage participation, teamwork, professionalism, and inclusion among chapter members.

Ideal Candidate: A successful President should demonstrate leadership, responsibility, communication, organization, initiative, and the ability to work well with others.

• Preside over meetings when the President is absent or unable to serve.
• Assist the President with chapter activities and responsibilities.
• Perform duties and responsibilities assigned by the President.
• Help oversee the activities of chapter committees and officers.
• Help ensure that committees and officers remain aligned with the chapter's goals and plans.
• Coordinate and compile transition reports at the end of the school year to support a smooth transition to the next Executive Board.
• Step in where needed to help the chapter operate effectively.

Ideal Candidate: A successful Vice President should demonstrate leadership, teamwork, communication, organization, flexibility, and the ability to support and motivate others.

• Record accurate minutes of general body meetings.
• Make meeting minutes available to members upon request.
• Report the minutes of the previous meeting at subsequent meetings.
• Maintain formal copies of meeting minutes and other required chapter records.
• Maintain the chapter membership roll.
• Maintain accurate member contact information, including email addresses and phone numbers.
• Help communicate important chapter information to members.
• Assist the Executive Board with organization and documentation.

Ideal Candidate: A successful Secretary should demonstrate organization, attention to detail, reliability, communication skills, and the ability to keep accurate records.

• Maintain accurate records of chapter deposits and withdrawals.
• Prepare and present formal Treasurer's Reports at general body meetings.
• Work with the Chapter Advisor regarding chapter financial activities.
• Assist with fundraising activities designed to support chapter programs and activities.
• Help identify opportunities to develop sustainable funding sources.
• Oversee and support the activities of the Finance Committee Chair.

• Help ensure that financial activities are properly documented and handled responsibly.

Ideal Candidate: A successful Treasurer should demonstrate responsibility, organization, integrity, attention to detail, financial awareness, and dependability.

The NSBE Jr. Rising Engineers of North Texas Executive Board consists of:

Executive Committee

• President
• Vice President
• Secretary
• Treasurer

Committee Chairs

• Appointed Committee Chairs established by the chapter.

All Executive Board members are expected to:

• Be active NSBE Jr. members in good standing.
• Be able to fulfill the responsibilities of their office for the entire school year.
• Attend chapter meetings and leadership meetings whenever possible.
• Participate actively in chapter programs, events, competitions, and service activities.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with fellow students, parents, advisors, volunteers, and NSBE members.
• Complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Work cooperatively with other officers and committee members.
• Represent NSBE Jr. and the Rising Engineers of North Texas Chapter in a positive and professional manner.
• Help create an inclusive environment where all chapter members feel welcome and encouraged to participate.
