Global Awareness Scholarship Application

ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION INFORMATION

To be considered for a scholarship, a complete application packet must be received by November 15, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. Be a current full-time student.

2. Working toward an undergraduate degree only.

3. Have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.

4. Attend a 2- or 4 -year accredited college/university in the Metro Atlanta area.

5. Demonstrate financial need.

Omission of any part of the application will eliminate the application from consideration. Graduating seniors must apply the scholarship funds prior to graduation.

Letter of Recommendation

Recommendation letter must adhere to the guidelines below. Letters not adhering to the guidelines will not be considered. Applications without a recommendation letter will be deemed incomplete and not eligible for review.

1. Letter should be addressed to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., East Point/College Park Alumnae Chapter and include:

Name and title of reference.
The name of the applicant and relationship.
How long the reference has known the applicant.
What type of involvement in international/global initiatives the applicant has been involved in and information about the applicant’s involvement.
Information regarding why the applicant should receive the scholarship award.

2. Letter must be written by a college/university professor or administrator.

3. Letter must be typed and on official institutional letterhead.

4. Letter must be signed by the reference.

5. Letter must include reference contact information (email address and phone number).

Disbursement of Scholarship Funds Agreement

I, First Name Last Name (applicant's name) acknowledge and understand that the scholarship awards will only be disbursed in a lump sum payment directly to the college/university identified by the scholarship recipient.

Scholarships will be awarded upon verification of enrollment from college/university. Verification entails an enrollment form completed by the institution with the registrar's signature and official seal of the institution.

I understand the scholarship awards must be claimed within 6 months after the announcement date or the funds will be forfeited.

I recognize and accept these conditions for the disbursement of the Global Awareness Scholarship Award.
