• MSA LSC Scholarship Application

  • In 2017, the MSA Lone Star Council established its inaugural scholarship, and we're excited to continue this tradition in 2027. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to MSAers in Texas who exhibit academic excellence, leadership, community service, and MSA involvement. Recipients will be awarded $500 for the Spring 2027 semester.

    Requirements:

    • Student in a Texas-based MSA that is registered with LSC
    • 2.5 GPA or above (Verified through Unofficial Transcript)
    • 1 Letter of Recommendation from a mentor/community leader
    • 1 Page Resume
    • Open to all Majors

    Required Short Responses (2 prompts):

    • What is your role in the Muslim community?
    • Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

    Optional Short Response:

    • Explain why you need this scholarship by describing your financial situation.

  • Reccommendation Letter

    Recommendations should be submitted via email by the individual providing the recommendation. Please ask your recommender to send their recommendation as a PDF to scholarship@msa-texas.org. All recommendations must be emailed by the deadline of November 13 at 11:59 PM CT.

  • Prompt Responses

  • All applicants must complete the following two questions:

    • What is your role in the Muslim community? (500 words max)
    • Where do you see yourself in 10 years (300 words max)

    The prompt below is optional. Your response will not be scored.

    • Explain why you need this scholarship by describing your financial situation. (300 words max) 

    Instructions

    • Responses are scored on clarity, focus, and insight.
    • Do not include your name, school, or identifying information in your response.
    • An incomplete response to a required prompt will receive a score of zero.

  • Jazāk Allāhu Khayran for filling out the application. Applications are considered complete when the recommendation letters have been submitted. Please follow up if you do not receive an email confirming your submission has been accepted.

    The MSA LSC Scholarship Committee will finalize decisions and reach out to the recipients, InshaAllah.
