    Film Showcases — Call for Submissions

    In partnership with the IMZ International Music + Media Centre, Classical:NEXT is presenting the third edition of its Film Showcases.

    The programme brings filmmakers into dialogue with the classical and art music community. The selected films will be presented in two thematic screenings, followed by panel discussions.

    Share your film with a new audience and discover connections beyond the film industry!

     

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

    We invite films that engage with the future of music across different genres and practices — from reinterpretations of classics and to improvisation, contemporary circus and audiovisual performance.

    This year, we are particularly interested in films with educational potential — films that introduce new generations to music, spark the curiosity of new audiences and provide exciting ways to encounter artists, works and musical traditions.

     

    ELIGIBLE SUBMISSIONS

    • Documentaries, artist portraits, stand-alone features, shorts, animation and concert or performance films etc.
    • Films of up to 30 minutes in length. For feature-length films, please submit a representative excerpt

     

    TIMELINE

    Submission deadline: 13 November 2026

    Notification of selected films: Early December 2026

    Classical:NEXT Film Showcases: 12–13 May 2027

     

    SUBMISSION FEE

    The submission fee is €25.

    If you would like to submit another production, please complete a separate form.
