Meal Assembly Volunteer Sign-Up | Community Big Give 2026

MEAL ASSEMBLY
Join us Saturday, November 21 from 8:30am to 11:30am as we assemble approximately 1,750 Thanksgiving meals for families throughout our community. The exact volunteer location and arrival instructions will be provided to registered volunteers by email before the event.

What You'll Do
As a Meal Assembly Volunteer, you'll move through an assembly line packing groceries into complete Thanksgiving meals. You may also help unbox turkeys, restock the assembly line, or keep vehicle loading stations stocked as meals begin heading out for delivery.

Once all of the meals are packed, you're free to go! If you'd like to stick around, we'd love the extra help with cleanup or vehicle loading. These additional volunteer roles are available for sign up below.

Before the Event
Be sure to check your confirmation email after signing up. It will include a link to Volunteer Info Page which will go live by 5:00 PM on November 17. It will include everything you'll need to know with final event details for November 21.

We'll also send email and text reminders as the event gets closer.

ABOUT COMMUNITY BIG GIVE:
Community Big Give brings our community together to provide complete Thanksgiving meals to families experiencing need within the Sumner-Bonney Lake, Dieringer, and White River School District communities. Approximately 1,750 families are expected to receive meals this year.

The event is made possible by the generosity of local individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, sponsors, and volunteers working together to help ease the Thanksgiving-season demand on our local food banks. Open Life Church coordinates the event and covers its organizational and administrative costs so community donations can go toward providing Thanksgiving meals.

Together we can make sure families throughout our community have the opportunity to enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal.

ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEER ROLES | OPTIONAL

EARLY SHIFT | 7:30am Arrival
Want to get an early start? Help us set up the assembly line, unpack food, and organize products before the full Meal Assembly crew arrives at 8:30am.

Select the number of people from your group who can arrive at 7:30am. We'll follow up with additional instructions.

VEHICLE LOADING | 8:30am–11:30am
Help us get completed meals into the hands of our delivery drivers! You'll start the morning by packing a few Thanksgiving meal bags with the Meal Assembly crew, then transition to a Vehicle Loading Station when called.

You'll help load vehicles with 5 or 10 meals at a time as directed by Station Leaders and keep your station stocked with completed meal bags, turkeys, and potatoes until all deliveries have been picked up.

Plan to arrive by 8:30am and serve through approximately 11:30am.

CLEANUP | 10:30am–12:00pm
Help us finish strong! As Meal Assembly winds down, you'll help break down boxes, stack empty pallets, assist loading stations with final restocking, and clean up the event area.

Cleanup begins around 10:30am and should be completed by 12:00pm or earlier.

DELIVER MEALS | After 10:00am
After you pack bags for a while, go grab your vehicle and take 5 or 10 meals for delivery. You will need to also sign up as a Delivery Driver on our volunteer page after you complete this form. If Delivering please don't sign up for Vehicle Loading or Cleanup as times will conflict.

These roles are in addition to Meal Assembly and help us keep everything moving smoothly throughout the morning.

HOLD HARMLESS & RELEASE

By participating as a volunteer in the 2026 Community Big Give, I understand that volunteer activities may involve certain risks, including the possibility of injury, property damage, theft, or loss.

All volunteers will be asked to review and sign the Community Big Give Hold Harmless & Release Agreement upon arrival at the event.

CONFIDENTIALITY

I understand that, through my volunteer role, I may see or receive information about individuals and families receiving Community Big Give meals. I agree to respect their privacy and keep any personally identifiable or private information confidential, including names, addresses, contact information, or other information I may encounter while volunteering.

I will not photograph, post, share, or otherwise publicly identify meal recipients without authorization from Community Big Give.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

I understand that photos and video may be taken during the 2026 Community Big Give and may be used for future promotional, informational, or publication purposes, including websites, social media, print materials, and other communications.

I also give Community Big Give and Open Life Church permission to share or republish event-related photos or videos that I publicly share or provide to Community Big Give.
