  • Audition & Character Preferences
Please review the cast list below. There are 22 character roles, with the ability to add additional Story Carolers if needed.

For each character, you’ll find a brief description, the acts in which they appear, the amount of spoken lines, and casting gender.

Please list three roles your performer would like to audition for, in order of preference.

    1st Choice:
    2nd Choice:
    3rd Choice:

Character preferences will help me plan auditions.

Final casting will be based on auditions and the needs of the production, and performers may be cast in a role other than one of their three choices.

  • Costumes
Parents/guardians will be responsible for providing the base pieces for their performer’s costume. Costumes will be Victorian-inspired, but families should not purchase elaborate or complete Victorian costumes. The goal is for the entire cast to have a coordinated, cohesive look.

The cast will be color-coded by character. Only Scrooge will wear true Christmas red. Ms. Lindsay will provide many of the pieces that create the Victorian look, including shawls, cravats, aprons, vests, suspenders, hats, and other character-specific accessories.

Please wait until your performer has been cast before purchasing or gathering any base costume pieces.

The A Christmas Carol Production Packet will be sent in November and will include everything you need to know about the production, including individual character sheets with specific costume requirements and details about which pieces families will provide and which pieces Ms. Lindsay will provide.

  • Workshop Policies & Expectations

  • About Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops
Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops provides supportive, inclusive creative experiences for teens and adults with developmental disabilities through theater, improv, visual arts, storytelling, and other creative opportunities.

A Christmas Carol is a collaborative theater production where performers will work together to bring a story to life while building confidence, developing performance skills, expressing their creativity, and being part of a cast.

The production is directed by me, Ms. Lindsay, with Ms. Amanda Guarnero and Ms. Laurie Timmons serving as Assistant Directors. We will also be joined by Student Production Apprentices who have an interest in theater and want to gain hands-on experience learning about producing and directing an inclusive theater production for performers with developmental disabilities. Apprentices will learn alongside the production team and may gain experience in areas such as directing, rehearsals, backstage and technical production, costumes and props, and onstage performance.

Because theater is a team effort, performers should be able to participate safely and respectfully in group rehearsals, follow basic directions, and work cooperatively with the support provided by the production team.

My goal is to create a welcoming and encouraging environment where every performer has a meaningful role in the production, feels valued as part of the cast, and has the opportunity to express themselves creatively, develop new skills, discover their strengths, and experience the excitement of creating a show together.

  • Arrival, Pick-Up & Auditions: Performers should arrive and be picked up on time. Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops cannot provide supervision before or after scheduled production hours. Performers under age 17 must have a parent or guardian remain on-site during rehearsals and production activities. Performers age 17 and older may be dropped off and picked up at the scheduled times. Parents and guardians of performers of all ages are welcome to stay and observe auditions and rehearsals. To help the cast stay focused and allow the production team to direct effectively, parents and guardians who remain on-site are asked to observe without interrupting rehearsals or providing direction to performers unless assistance is requested by the production team.*
  • Bathroom Independence: Performers who attend without a parent or guardian present must be able to use the restroom independently, as production staff are not able to assist with personal bathroom needs. If a performer requires bathroom assistance, a parent or guardian must remain on-site and be responsible for providing that assistance. Restrooms are conveniently located next to the production space.*
  • Photo & Video Policy: Photos and videos may be taken during rehearsals and performances by Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops for promotional, educational, and keepsake purposes. The final production will be recorded, and a link to the performance recording will be shared with cast families following the production. By participating in the production, performers should expect to appear in this recording. Because A Christmas Carol is a live production attended by families and guests, audience members may also take photos or videos. Ms. Lindsay’s Creative Workshops cannot control or restrict a performer from appearing in photos or recordings taken by other attendees.*
