DELIVERY DRIVER
Join us Saturday, November 21 and help deliver approximately 1,750 Thanksgiving meals to families throughout our community.

What You'll Do
As a Delivery Driver, you'll pick up 5 or 10 complete Thanksgiving meals and deliver them directly to local families. Plan for up to approximately 2 hours from your scheduled pickup time to complete your deliveries, although most routes are completed within about 90 minutes.

Delivery routes are organized geographically throughout Sumner, Bonney Lake, Buckley, and surrounding communities, with some routes extending to Wilkeson and Carbonado. We'll group your deliveries together as logically as possible to keep your route efficient.

Each delivery vehicle must have at least two adults age 18 or older, including a driver age 21 or older.

Leading Up to the Event
After you register, you'll receive a link and password to our Volunteer Info Page with Delivery Driver instructions and everything you'll need to know for November 21. Save this information!

On Tuesday, November 17 by 5:00 PM, we'll post the Delivery Wave Sign-Up on that page. You'll choose a 15-minute pickup window between 9:00am and 11:30am to arrive and receive your meals and delivery route.

We'll also send the Volunteer Info Page link and password by email and text on November 17, along with reminders as the event gets closer.

ABOUT COMMUNITY BIG GIVE
Community Big Give brings our community together to provide complete Thanksgiving meals to families experiencing need within the Sumner-Bonney Lake, Dieringer, and White River School District communities. Approximately 1,750 families are expected to receive meals this year.

The event is made possible by the generosity of local individuals, businesses, churches, organizations, sponsors, and volunteers working together to help ease the Thanksgiving-season demand on our local food banks. Open Life Church coordinates the event and covers its organizational and administrative costs so community donations can go toward providing Thanksgiving meals.

How many deliveries will you make?

From previous experience, with passengers in the back seat, and if you come with an empty trunk, most standard-size vehicles can easily hold 5 meals in the trunk, while SUVs and larger vehicles can typically accommodate 10 meals. Consider the size of your vehicle, trunk space, and the amount of passengers you're bringing along and choose the number of meals you will deliver below. 

15 + Meals? Typically this is harder to fit in most vehicles and begins to slow down the drive through line. If you'll come prepared and feel you have a vehicle that can handle it then the option is there. You're also committing to a longer delivery route, so keep that in mind as well.

DELIVERY DETAILS

Each delivery vehicle must have at least two adults age 18 or older, including a driver age 21 or older. Additional passengers, including minors, may ride at the driver's discretion and must comply with all applicable Washington State driving and passenger-safety laws.

Deliveries will be picked up on Saturday, November 21, in scheduled waves between 9:00am and 11:30am. Specific pickup location, arrival instructions, and the opportunity to choose your delivery wave will be available on our Volunteer Info Page beginning Tuesday, November 17 at 5:00pm. We'll send the link and password by email and text on November 17.

DELIVERY CONFIDENTIALITY

As a Delivery Driver, you may receive private information about individuals and families receiving Community Big Give meals, including names, addresses, phone numbers, and delivery instructions.

I agree to keep all recipient information confidential and use it only for the purpose of completing my assigned deliveries. I will not photograph, copy, post, share, retain, or otherwise distribute recipient information or publicly identify meal recipients.

DRIVER HOLD HARMLESS & RELEASE

By registering as a Delivery Driver, I acknowledge and agree that:

• I am an experienced and capable driver and will operate my vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
• I am at least 21 years old and hold a current, valid driver's license.
• The vehicle I will use is legally registered, safe to operate, and covered by a current automobile insurance policy meeting applicable Washington State requirements.
• I am responsible for ensuring that I and all passengers in my vehicle comply with applicable traffic, seat belt, child-restraint, and passenger-safety laws.
• I understand that each delivery vehicle must have at least two adults age 18 or older, including the driver, and I agree to have another adult with me throughout my delivery route.
• I understand that driving involves inherent risks, including risks related to traffic, weather, road conditions, other drivers, loading and unloading, and entering or exiting delivery locations.
• I am voluntarily participating as a Delivery Driver with knowledge of these risks and agree to exercise reasonable care in determining whether conditions are safe for me to drive.
• I understand that I am using my own vehicle for these deliveries and am responsible for confirming that my automobile insurance provides appropriate coverage for my participation.
• I accept responsibility for the safe operation of my vehicle and for ensuring that passengers in my vehicle follow applicable safety requirements.

To the extent permitted by law, I voluntarily assume the risks associated with my participation and release and agree to hold harmless Community Big Give, Open Life Church, participating partner organizations, and their respective officers, employees, volunteers, and representatives from claims arising from injury, illness, property damage, theft, or loss related to my participation as a volunteer Delivery Driver, except where such release is prohibited by law.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO

I understand that photos and video may be taken during the 2026 Community Big Give. I give Community Big Give and Open Life Church permission to photograph or record me while participating in the event and to use those images or recordings for promotional, informational, and future publication purposes, including websites, social media, print materials, and other communications.

I also give Community Big Give and Open Life Church permission to share or republish event-related photos or videos that I publicly share or provide to Community Big Give.

DRIVER ACKNOWLEDGMENT

By checking the box above, signing below, and submitting this form, I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the Delivery Confidentiality, Driver Hold Harmless & Release, and Photography & Video provisions above. I also confirm that I meet the driver and vehicle requirements described above.

Full event details will be posted by 5pm on Tuesday, November 17, and we'll text you the link and password again that day.
