Please do not depict Santa Claus (and/or Mrs. Claus) as he will be at the end of the parade and as we all know there is only 1 real Santa!
Every entry must be festive, family friendly, and safely operated. The organizer may refuse or remove any entry that does not meet these requirements.
Staging will take place at the Lacombe Junior High School. Staging information and parade information will be sent out closer to the date.
Parade Rules and Participant Agreement
These rules apply to every person and vehicle associated with an entry. The organizer may change, clarify, or enforce them at any time to protect participants, spectators, property, and the event.
Safety and Operations
·Follow all directions from parade marshals, emergency services, and organizers. Arrive on time, remain in the assigned staging area, and do not enter the route until directed.
·Drivers must hold the appropriate licence, obey all laws, remain alert, and operate at walking pace when moving within the parade. Do not allow riders in unsafe locations or exceed the safe capacity of any vehicle or trailer.
·Keep a safe distance from the entry ahead. Do not stop, reverse, race, make sudden turns, or leave a gap unless directed by a marshal.
·Secure all decorations, lights, props, and loads. Keep exhaust, hot surfaces, generators, electrical connections, and fuel safely managed and away from participants and spectators.
·Children and youth must be adequately supervised. Entries with animals must provide capable handlers and safe control at all times.
·Do not throw candy, toys, printed materials, or other objects from vehicles or floats. Handing out items is permited.
Conduct and Promotion
·Entries must be suitable for a public, family oriented celebration. Decorations, music, signage, costumes, and conduct must not be offensive, discriminatory, political campaigning, or otherwise inappropriate.
·The organizer may photograph, film, livestream, or record the parade and may use those images for event promotion and reporting without further compensation.
· Approval does not guarantee a particular staging position, category, award, or promotional mention.
Release and Indemnity
I confirm that the information in this entry form is accurate. On behalf of the named organization and its participants, I accept responsibility for our entry and agree to follow the parade rules and all lawful directions. To the extent permitted by law, I release and indemnify the City of Lacombe, Echo Energy, Light Up Lacombe organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and their respective officers and representatives from claims, losses, damages, costs, and liabilities arising from our participation, except where caused by their negligence. I confirm that required insurance is in place for any motorized entry.
