Group/School Opportunity Fund
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo’s Opportunity Fund provides limited financial assistance to qualifying underserved, low-income, and/or Title I schools and community groups within our service area.
Scholarship funding is limited and is awarded based on available funds and established eligibility criteria. The Opportunity Fund does not provide full scholarships. Applicants are responsible for any remaining program costs not covered by the awarded scholarship.
Scholarships do not cover our Quarters for Conservation fee.
Application Requirements
To be considered for Opportunity Fund assistance, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Program Request and Invoice: Applicants must first submit a program request form and receive confirmation of their program, including an invoice reflecting the required deposit. A copy of the invoice must be submitted with the scholarship application.
- Application Deadline: Scholarship applications must be submitted at least one month prior to the scheduled program date. Applications submitted after this deadline may not be considered.
- Funding Availability: Submission of a scholarship application does not guarantee funding. Awards are subject to eligibility requirements and the availability of Opportunity Fund resources.
Note: If the headcount of participants from your original invoice changes, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will adjust your scholarship to reflect those changes.
Example: Your original program request is for 50 participants/2 programs and your scholarship is awarded based on that headcount/# of programs. If your final participant count changes to 25 participants/1 program, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo will recalculate the scholarship amount based on the updated headcount/# of programs. The scholarship will be adjusted to reflect the change.
