• Candidate Acknowledgement and Authorization for Administrative Enrollment

Please review the information below and provide your acknowledgement and authorization for administrative enrollment.
  • Purpose

The Ed.D. in Educational Leadership is a fully prescribed, cohort-based program. There are no elective courses. Every candidate progresses through a fixed sequence of courses established by an individualized Plan of Study, developed and confirmed at admission. Because the sequence is fixed and does not vary by candidate choice, the College of Education administratively enrolls each candidate each semester rather than requiring candidates to self-register.

This form documents the candidate's informed consent to that process. Administrative enrollment commits the candidate's time and financial resources each semester without a separate registration action on the candidate's part. The College of Education requires the candidate's explicit, informed authorization before proceeding on this basis.

  • Scope of Authorization

By signing below, I authorize Sul Ross State University to enroll me this semester in the courses specified by my Plan of Study, as approved by the Ed.D. Program Director. I understand that:

    • The Ed.D. Program Director authorizes enrollment each semester based on my approved Plan of Study.
    • The Doctoral Program Administrative Specialist executes enrollment on the Program Director's authorization; I am not required to self-register through Banner or any other system.
    • This authorization carries a financial obligation. Enrollment each semester results in tuition and fee charges to my student account consistent with my Plan of Study.
    • I remain responsible for monitoring my enrollment, my student account, and my academic progress each semester, notwithstanding that registration is performed on my behalf.
  • Voiding and Renewal

This authorization is valid only for enrollment consistent with my Plan of Study as approved at the time of signature. If my Plan of Study is modified for any reason, including but not limited to a change in specialization pathway, milestone remediation, or any other adjustment to my prescribed course sequence, this authorization is void as to the modified portion of the sequence. A modified Plan of Study requires a new signed acknowledgment before administrative enrollment continues under the revised sequence.

  • Dropping a Course or Withdrawing from the University

Students wishing to drop a course, or withdraw entirely from Sul Ross State University should follow the appropriate procedures set by the Office of the Registrar. Dropping a course means dropping one or more course(s), but remaining enrolled at the university for the current term/semester. Withdrawing from the university means dropping ALL courses for the current and future semester(s).

Students can review information on Dropping a Course and Withdrawing from the university on the Office of the Registrar’s website. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure the completed drop or withdraw form is submitted to the Office of the Registrar by the correct deadlines.
