A fun, interactive Mandarin story experience designed to help children build Chinese language skills through engaging stories, conversation, and participation.
📚 How the Class Works
Each storybook is taught over 4 weekly sessions, giving children the time and space to truly explore the story rather than simply listening to it once. Across the four classes, teachers will guide students through the story in greater detail, introduce new vocabulary, ask questions, and encourage students to actively participate and respond in Mandarin.
By the end of each 4-session story, students will work toward being able to understand the story, use new vocabulary, answer questions, and retell the story in Chinese.
🌱 What Children Will Practice
Story comprehension — Follow the story, characters, events, and key ideas.
Mandarin vocabulary — Learn and practice new words naturally within the story.
Listening & speaking — Build confidence understanding Mandarin and expressing ideas aloud.
Interactive participation — Answer questions, share ideas, and participate throughout the lesson.
Story retelling — Practice using vocabulary and sentence structures to retell the story in Chinese.
Language confidence — Develop the confidence to communicate in Mandarin in a fun, supportive environment.
🧸 A Story-Based Approach to Language Learning
Our goal is not simply for children to memorize vocabulary. Through repeated exposure, discussion, questions, and guided participation, children have opportunities to hear, understand, use, and revisit Chinese naturally.
The 4-session format allows us to slow down and explore each story more deeply, helping children develop both comprehension and expressive language skills while keeping learning enjoyable and engaging.

Class Time: Sundays, 6:30–7:00 PM PST
Format: 4 classes = 1 complete story
Class Size: 15–25 students per class
