THE DETAILS:
Essex CDC has been approached by two seasoned muralists with an exciting idea: launching an Essex Mural Festival! We are now seeking Essex community members, creatives, high school students, and Essex-based business owners who are interested in serving on a volunteer committee to help shape this initiative from the ground up.
Committee members will help inform the planning and implementation of the festival, including identifying potential mural locations, exploring funding and sponsorship opportunities, developing programming, recruiting participants and partners, promoting the event, and helping carry out the festival itself.
We expect planning to take place over the next 10–11 months, with a proposed festival date in Fall 2027. This will be a hands-on committee, and we are looking for people who are excited to contribute ideas, make connections, and help turn those ideas into action.
We especially encourage Essex residents and Essex-based business owners who have not yet been significantly involved with Essex CDC's work to consider joining. You do not need previous committee experience or an arts background - just an interest in strengthening Essex and helping create something positive and visible for our community.
Participants must be high school students or older to be considered.
