    Thank you for participating in my research! I will be collecting identity labels since this informs my research, but responses will remain anonymous. 

  • Title of Research:

    Asexual and Aromantic Symbols in Character Customization

    Purpose of Study:

    The research aims to provide a more inclusive character customization and provide asexual/aromantic players more symbols of identity in games. Participants will be asked to share their identity and how their identity relates to digital character appearance. 

    Procedures:

    You will be asked 6 demographic questions, then be asked to playtest a customization prototype. Finally, four long answer questions will be asked. 

    Voluntary Participation and Withdrawal:

    Participation is voluntary. You may refuse to answer any questions and withdraw from the survey at any point with no consequences.

    Potential Risk:

    The survey is a minimal-risk environment. Elements about identity will be shared, which may cause discomfort. Identity sharing is optional. Demographic questions will remain anonymous. 

    Confidentiality:

    No personal identifying information, including names or pronouns, will be collected during the survey. While identity labels may be shared, this will be the only personal information collected. All information will remain anonymous only in summary form.
