Event Info
Date: March 20th
Time: 4pm - 6pm
Location: Game Preserve - NASA (Webster, TX)
Venue Info
Game Preserve - NASA requires all customers to purchase day passes in order to enter the venue. These are 10$ per person for our contestants (usually they are 15$), and they give you unlimited access to the games and everything else Game Preserve has to offer from 11am to 10pm. (If you already have a Game Preserve membership, you will get into this event for free.)
You will need a day pass to participate in this event, but the contest itself comes at no extra cost to anyone. (There is no fee to enter or participate on top of the cost of a day pass.)
Rules
We have a few rules for this event- the primary one being that this is a family friendly event, and as such we ask that all costumes remain family friendly. (Nothing too gorey, and costumes must cover your swimsuit areas.) Costumes that are JUST bodypaint are not allowed. For safety reasons we also ask that all entrants wear shoes. Props are allowed, but please keep all prop weapons at home.
There are no craftsmanship requirements for this contest, but if you make any part of your costume you will be in consideration for our "crafty" award. Please be honest with the judges about what you have made for your costume and what you haven't.
Children 12 and under will be entered into our "Mothman Jr." category. Entrants under the age of 18 should have an adult present at the time of check in for the contest.
Categories/Awards
At this time, the categories we are planning on having are as follows:
- Best Mothman Jr.
- Most Creative Mothman
- Craftiest Mothman
- Spookiest Mothman
- Best Mothman Lookalike
All of these categories will have small prizes. (Prizes will be announced on our Instagram page as we get closer to the event.) If we have a large amount of signups, we will consider adding more categories and prizes. (And if we get enough people signing up as a group- we will add a group category.)
Please fill out the signup sheet below to the best of your ability. On the day of the event, our organizer will be running check-in's for the contest. Please check in with her. She will confirm all of your information (including how you wish to be announced during the "stage walk" portion of the contest), and then you will be given the opprotunity to speak with our judges. Check ins will open a little before 4pm for our contest start time of 5pm. Please arrive no later than 4:45pm to check in and speak to the judges!
