    Help Shape Greenport’s Winter Programming

For many years, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County organized and led Shellabration during the first weekend of December.  Cornell will not be producing Shellabration again in 2026, nor will Hold Fast be holding “Raise Shell” as a placeholder. As a result, there will not be a traditional Shellabration event this year.

The BID appreciates the many years of work by Cornell Cooperative Extension, local businesses, shellfish growers and community partners that made Shellabration an important Greenport tradition. Rather than attempting to recreate Cornell’s event, the BID is asking its membership how we can best support activity in Greenport this December and throughout the winter.

RESPONSES ARE RESPECTFULLY REQUESTED BY OCTOBER 16, 2026
