Farina - Germade 45lb 004-316-0001. Farina is a specialized format of coarsely cracked grain that behaves distinctly from standard flour profiles: • The Core Material: It is milled directly from the nutrient-dense endosperm of premium hard red wheat. The outer bran and inner germ are carefully separated, leaving pure, high-protein granules. • Texture & Granulation: Unlike ultra-fine baking flour, farina is sifted to a coarse, uniform sand-like structure. This intentional granulation allows it to absorb liquid cleanly without clumping into gluey pockets. • Terminology Cross-Over: Depending on regional food terminology, this precise type of cracked wheat endosperm is often referred to interchangeably as Germade or the generic equivalent of Cream of Wheat. Nutritional & Composition Breakdown Per a standard 1/4 cup dry serving size, this formulation provides clean, low-fat energy metrics: • Protein Yield: Delivers a stable 5 grams of protein per serving, aiding structural thickening when boiled. • Carbohydrate Load: Supplies 33 grams of total carbohydrates with minimal natural dietary fiber (approx 1g), making it exceptionally fast to digest and gentle on the stomach. • Fat & Sodium Profile: Naturally holds 0.5g of total fat and contains 0mg of sodium, providing an ideal blank canvas for culinary additions. Applications & Long-Term Storage Guidelines • Primary Preparation: Most commonly cooked down into a rich, smooth breakfast porridge. The general preparation rule requires adding 2/3 cup of Farina to 3 cups of boiling water, dropping to medium heat, and stirring occasionally for 2 minutes until fully thickened. • Culinary Versatility: Beyond breakfast cream bowls, it serves as an excellent commercial substitute for cornmeal in making smooth Italian-style polenta or acting as a dust coating for pizza peels to prevent raw dough from sticking. • Shelf-Life Potential: While bulk multi-wall paper bags have a commercial shelf life of 1 year in cool, dry warehouse environments, when packaged air-tight in a sealed #10 can with oxygen absorbers, it remains highly stable for 10 to 15 years, making it a cornerstone for emergency food storage.

9-Grain Cracked 50lb 004-122-0841. This robust, coarsely cracked blend is designed primarily as a multi-grain hot breakfast cereal or as a nutritional texture additive for hearty artisan bread doughs. Product Breakdown & Specifications • Ingredients: A wholesome blend typically featuring hard red wheat, soft white wheat, barley, rye, oats, corn, millet, buckwheat, and flax seed. • Texture Profile: The grains are cracked rather than rolled or finely milled, providing a dense, satisfying crunch and an excellent visual pop when baked onto crusts or mixed into multi-grain loaves. • Preparation: For a hot porridge, simmer 1/2 cup of the mix with 1 cup of water for roughly 10 minutes. When adding directly to bread dough, it is highly recommended to pre-soak or scald the blend first so it doesn't strip moisture away from your crumb. • Storage Note: Because it contains raw agricultural commodities and natural oil-rich seeds (like flax), bulk bags should be broken down into airtight food-grade buckets with oxygen absorbers if you intend to store them long-term

Oat Regular rolled oats 45lb 004-152-0701. Regular oat flakes are produced through a standardized milling process designed to preserve nutrition while improving cook time: • The Process: Whole oat grains (groats) are first cleaned, dehulled, and steamed to soften them. They are then passed through heavy mechanical rollers to flatten them into individual flakes before being dried to extend shelf life. • Texture & Bite: Unlike quick or instant oats, regular flaked oats remain thicker and larger. This allows them to retain a coarse, firm, and hearty texture with a distinct bite after preparation. • Nutritional Integrity: Because they are 100% whole grain, regular oat flakes retain their healthy fats, natural fiber, and core protein profile. They are highly rich in beta-glucan (a dietary fiber with proven cholesterol-lowering properties), thiamin (Vitamin B1), iron, and magnesium

Oat Quick 45lb 004-152-0711 *out of stock. Quick oats undergo a specialized multi-step mechanical refinement that alters their final behavior: • The Cut: Before entering the steaming chamber and heavy rollers, whole oat groats are mechanically cut into several smaller pieces. • Thin Rolling: These fragmented pieces are rolled significantly thinner than regular flakes. The increased surface-area-to-mass ratio allows moisture to penetrate the grain starch almost instantly. • Rapid Cooking: Because they are pre-fractionated and ultra-thin, they fully hydrate and gelatinize in just 1 minute on a stovetop or microwave, compared to the 5 to 6 minutes required for regular flakes. Functional Trade-offs & Performance • Texture Profile: When prepared, quick oats yield a soft, uniform, and exceptionally creamy breakfast porridge. However, because the flakes are broken down ahead of time, they lose the individual "bite" and structural identity characteristic of a regular flaked grain. • Baking Mechanics: In baking formulas, quick oats act as an excellent binder. They absorb moisture uniformly and disperse smoothly into cookies, muffins, and meatloaves without creating oversized, chewy pockets. • Digestion Velocity: From a metabolic standpoint, the finer physical structure means your digestive enzymes break them down more efficiently. This results in a slightly faster glycemic response compared to the slow-burning, steady energy curve of regular, thick-cut rolled oats

Rye WG 50lb 004-112-0601. Whole grain rye berries are distinctly recognized for their robust agronomic properties and hearty culinary profile: • The Entire Kernel: Because it is classified as "Whole Grain" (WG), every berry retains its complete anatomy—the fiber-dense outer bran, the nutrient-packed germ, and the starchy endosperm. • Gluten Profile: Rye naturally contains a much lower gluten threshold than standard hard wheat. The gluten it does possess is structurally weak, which is why 100% rye loaves are dense and compact. • Enzymatic Power: Rye is heavily packed with natural amylase enzymes and pentosans (complex sugars that absorb up to eight times their weight in water). These compounds break down starches efficiently, making rye a rapid, powerful fermenter. Common Industry Applications Industrial food producers, agriculturalists, and specialty kitchens utilize whole grain rye across several distinct channels: Application Sector	Commercial Use & Execution Fresh In-House Milling	Commercial bakeries purchase raw berries to grind directly into fresh, aromatic pumpernickel or dark rye flours, keeping the volatile natural oils intact. Sprouting & Fermentation	The intact whole berries are highly viable for sprouting (malting). They are widely used to kickstart artisanal sourdough starters or as a primary grain bill mash for rye whiskey distillation. Culinary Grain Bowls	Whole rye berries can be soaked overnight and boiled for 45–60 minutes. They retain a firm, distinctly chewy texture and earthy flavor perfect for pilafs, soups, and cold grain salads. Bulk Storage & Packaging Dynamics • Packaging: This item is packaged in a heavy-duty, multi-wall 50 lb paper bag designed to withstand commercial freight and stacking. • Preservation & Shelf Life: In its raw, intact berry format, the grain protects itself naturally from oxidation. When stored in a cool, dark warehouse below 65°F (18°C) with low humidity, the bag carries a standard 1 to 2-year commercial shelf life. If transferred to air-tight food-grade buckets with oxygen absorbers, the structural integrity of the berry allows it to remain viable for up to 20–30 years, vastly outlasting pre-ground flours.

Sugar Beet light brwn 50lb 004-345-0201. Sugar Beet Light Brown Sugar Attributes • The Baking Profile: Sugar beet light brown sugar features fine-grain sugar crystals coated in a precisely calibrated molasses or cane-syrup blend. It provides excellent moisture retention, helping soft-batch cookies, brownies, muffins, and crumble toppings stay soft and tender over time. • Cane vs. Beet Functionality: Chemically, cane and beet sugar are identical molecules (sucrose). However, many professional bakers note that beet sugar crystals melt and caramelize at slightly different thresholds due to minor trace mineral variances. This can alter the spread and structure of cookies compared to 100% pure sugarcane products. • Storage Protocols: Due to its inherent moisture and hygroscopic nature, a 50 lb bulk bag will harden into a solid block if left open to changing humidity. It is best broken down into 5-gallon food-grade buckets sealed with a rubber-gasket Gamma Seal lid.

Sugar Beet White extra Fine 50lb 004-345-0001. Extracted from high-sucrose sugar beet crops rather than sugarcane, this pure sucrose sweetener is processed into highly uniform, rapidly dissolving crystals. It serves as an essential high-volume ingredient for professional bakeries, food manufacturing, and long-term emergency food storage. Sugar Beet Extra Fine White Sugar Attributes • Chemical Equivalence: From a molecular perspective, refined beet sugar and refined cane sugar are identical; both are 99.9% pure sucrose. • Baking Functionality: Because it is processed into an "extra fine" grain size, this sugar dissolves instantly into batters, liquids, and meringues. Many commercial bakers prefer beet sugar for precise candy-making, jellies, and delicate pastries because it consistently resists premature crystallization. • Long-Term Storage: Pure white granulated sugar has an indefinite shelf life if kept completely dry. For bulk storage, it should be transferred from the paper shipping bag into airtight, food-grade 5-gallon buckets to prevent it from absorbing ambient moisture and hardening into a solid block. Unlike grains, white sugar should not be stored with oxygen absorbers, as removing the oxygen can cause the crystals to clump together tightly

    The Whole Grain.
One of the healthiest, yet most misunderstood foods out there. Packed full of vitamins, nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants, whole grains are a simple, easy to use Superfood that helps support a balanced diet and have even been shown to reduce, and sometimes prevent, most major diseases. With all these benefits, why is it that so many people haven’t, and in some cases choose not to, incorporate whole grain products into their daily diet? Before we can answer that question, we first must understand what is considered a Whole Grain.
    WHAT IS A WHOLE GRAIN?
We’ve all seen the commercials, read the labels, or even seen the bold print on boxes and menu’s that says “Made with Whole Grain.” What exactly does that mean, and how do we know for sure if that statement is correct? The best way to know if something is made with whole grains is to understand what a whole grain is in the first place.According to the Whole Grains Council, for a food product to qualify as a whole grain it must contain 100% of the original kernel. A whole grain kernel consists of three parts, the bran, germ, and endosperm. What does this mean, you ask? In simple terms, it means that the whole grain, whether baked or milled, contains all of the original ingredients found in the kernel. Most typical white flours are made in a process that extracts the bran, germ, middlings, and germ oil. Some flours on the market are then loaded with various chemicals, maturing agents, and synthetic vitamins. In short, by the time that loaf of sandwich bread arrives at your local grocer, 80-90% of the useful, natural vitamins and minerals that were originally in the whole grain it came from have been removed. Not only is that loaf lacking in all the health this Superfood once had, it’s actually picked up a few unhealthy chemical companions along the way.
WHY DO I WANT WHOLE GRAINS?
With all these removed nutrients and added chemicals, it’s obvious to see why some people initially shy away from Whole Grains, but that’s a mistake. Whole Grains, in their natural, un-processed form are just too healthy and too beneficial to pass up. Remember, this is a Superfood, meaning that everything you’d need to sustain life is contained in these small kernels. On top of sustaining, whole grains can actually improve your way of life. Here are just a few things whole grains can do:Help prevent cancers, diabetes, heart disease, & strokeBoost metabolism, satisfy hunger, and prevent cravingsRegulate blood sugar & sustain energy longerImprove digestion & aid in the elimination processContain abundant antioxidants
Did you also know that many whole grains are naturally gluten free? Grains such as Buckwheat, Millet, Oat Groats, Quinoa, Teff, and Rice not only contain all the health benefits associated with most whole grains, but also are safe to consume for those intolerant to gluten or simply choosing to live a gluten free lifestyle.
HOW DO I INCORPORATE WHOLE GRAINS IN MY DAILY DIET?
Now that we know the many benefits of whole grains, the next obvious question is how to make them a part of our everyday diet. Doing so requires 3 essential tools of the trade, listed below.
    A GRAIN MILL
Consider this the most important kitchen tool you’ll ever invest in. When it comes to incorporating whole grains into your everyday diet, a good, quality grain mill is your best friend in the kitchen. Why, you ask? Because when it comes to whole grains, 90% of the ways you’ll incorporate those grains into your diet will be in the form of fresh ground flour. Grinding your own flour at home, from grains you’ve selected, allows you to keep all the natural, life-saving nutrients of the grain, while not getting all the negative, extra chemicals found in some store bought flours. You know what’s in your food because you prepared and milled it yourself. In addition, grinding your own grains at home will save you thousands of dollars each year. Here at Honeyville we offer two great grain mills, the Nutrimill Electric Grain Mill and the impressive KoMo Classic Grain Mill. Both are great tools for whole grain milling, with the KoMo Mill incorporating the ancient art of using mill stones to grind your grains to a fine flour.
    FOOD MIXER
Now that your whole grain has been milled, how do you best incorporate it into a baked bread, roll, or dessert? The BOSCH Universal Mixer is the best way to do this. With it’s high end look and 4-speed settings, this machine can mix, blend, beat, and knead your whole grains into delicious doughs, breads, pastries, and rolls, all within a matter of minutes. PRESSURE COOKER

Pressure cooking has always been an easy way to create delicious, homemade meals in minutes.
