COSTUME CONTEST, PLEASE READ
Open to everyone. There are three prizes: Kids, Adult, and Family or Group. Enter once here and we sort your entry into the right one, so there is nothing extra to pick.

Your costume photo has to be taken at Downtown Trick-or-Treat on Friday, October 30, between 5 and 7 PM on Main Street. A photo taken on any other day does not qualify for this contest. Scan the QR code on the A-frame signs while you are downtown and enter right there.

PET COSTUME CONTEST, PLEASE READ

Pets are not permitted within the Downtown Trick-or-Treat event area during event hours. This is an insurance requirement. Service animals are permitted. Take your pet's photo wherever you like, any time this year, and send it in here. Entries close Saturday, October 31.

SCARECROW CONTEST, OPEN TO EVERYONE

Businesses, families and individuals can all enter. Build a scarecrow and we will give you a light pole on Main Street to hang it from, so the whole town sees it. You assemble it yourself between noon on Thursday, October 29 and noon on Friday, October 30, and take it down by 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 1. We photograph them once they are up and the community votes on social media. Two prizes: Community Favorite, and Best Overall Scarecrow.

Scarecrow rules. How to attach it: twine or zip ties only. No wire and no tape. Nothing else damages the light poles the way those two do. Also: must be family friendly, no taller than 8 feet, your name or business name marked using a sign, no generators or tiki torches, and nothing political, religious or controversial. The Chamber and City of Dell Rapids are not responsible for loss or damage, and we reserve the right to remove any scarecrow we deem inappropriate.
