• Private markets: Lessons learnt so far

  • Tuesday 3rd November 2026

12pm- 2pm followed by panel session and lunch

Location: PGIM Limited Grand Buildings, 1-3 Strand, Trafalgar Square, London, WC2N 5HR

  •

At this DCIF In Depth session, we will discuss and share private markets wisdom from Australia, the US – and share early lessons from the UK experience.

    Practical lessons and case studies

    • We will discuss the challenges associated with deploying a lot of capital into private markets in a short space of time. How has this worked for Australian superfunds, which have been doing this for several decades? Have there been any difficulties and if so, how have they overcome them? How does the UK experience compare so far?

    • We will explore how some US investors have addressed the challenge of offering daily pricing while investing in less liquid asset classes. Which approaches have proved effective, and could any of these models be adapted for the UK DC market?

    • We will also consider how private markets investing could evolve over the next five to ten years. What could a mature system look like?

Our intention is for this to be a practical and interactive session, with plenty of useful ideas to take back to your desk.
