Why are you interested in partaking in this course?

Have you participated in any similar type of shark or marine related course/trip before?

This course is not a typical "diving vacation", rather it is more of an educational opportunity to learn about shark science and conservation efforts. The course will include water activities, however they will be equally balanced by lectures given in the classroom. How did you hear about the Bimini Shark Lab?

Dietary Information: meals are prepared and served 'family style' by our small team. Please include any food allergies/restrictions that we would need to be aware of.

Example: Vegetarian, Pescatarian, etc. Please note the Shark Lab can not accommodate vegan, grain-free or speciality diets. While we take great care in preparing our food, we want to be transparent that we cannot guarantee complete avoidance of cross-contact with allergens due to shared kitchen spaces and equipment.

Are you comfortable around dogs? There will be two large breed dogs at the station daily.

Are you physically able to climb a small boat ladder?

Please confirm that you are aware that activities in the field may be physically taxing. Keep in mind that there will likely be intense sun, high humidity, and buggy conditions. Participants should be in good physical health and prepared for long days in the field.

Please confirm that you have a valid passport and will obtain any necessary documentation/paperwork in order to be able to travel through the USA. Please note that you must have at least 6 months left before your passport expires at the time of the trip in order to enter the Bahamas.

Are you comfortable staying onsite at the field station? Please note that accommodation will be shared with fellow course participants and Shark Lab crew members. Each bedroom contains two bunk beds, accommodating up to four people per room, and participants should be prepared for the possibility of being assigned a top bunk. Additionally, due to remote living conditions we sometimes have to utilize salt water for washing and showering.
