SOMEONE BELIEVES IN YOUR FUTURE. WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THAT OPPORTUNITY?
A workplace injury can change a family’s life in an instant. Plans change. Financial pressures grow. And for a student working toward a college degree or career, the road forward can become harder than anyone expected.
Kids’ Chance of Maryland exists because we believe a family’s hardship should not determine a student’s future.
Across Maryland, individuals, businesses, and organizations contribute their time, money, and resources because they believe in students like you. They may never meet you. They may never know your name. But they are willing to invest in your education because they believe you deserve the opportunity to build something meaningful with your life.
That generosity creates opportunity. And opportunity comes with responsibility.
A KCMD scholarship is more than financial assistance. It is an investment in your potential, your determination, and your commitment to building a future. Our sponsors want to know that their generosity is making a difference. They want to see you make progress, work toward your goals, overcome challenges, and make the most of the opportunity they have helped create.
That is why receiving a scholarship means becoming part of the KCMD community—not simply receiving financial assistance, but staying connected to the people and purpose behind it.
If selected, you will be expected to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, remain in good academic standing with your institution and free of academic probation, report on your academic progress and goals every nine weeks, share your accomplishments and experiences, stay in communication with KCMD, attend at least one KCMD event each year, and look for meaningful ways to give back to KCMD and your community.
These expectations are not just administrative requirements. They are an important part of the relationship between you, KCMD, and the sponsors who make your scholarship possible. Your updates allow sponsors to see the progress they are helping support. Your participation strengthens the community that makes these opportunities available to students today and in the future.
Every application is carefully considered, and submitting an application does not guarantee an award. If selected, you will be responsible for meeting the scholarship’s ongoing requirements to remain eligible for continued support. Scholarships are awarded and renewed according to KCMD’s applicable policies and eligibility criteria.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Priority deadlines are July 1 for fall entry and December 1 for spring entry. The deadline for second-semester applications for spring 2027 entry is December 1, 2026.
Before you begin, take a moment to consider what this opportunity means to you—and how you will honor the investment being made in your future.
KCMD believes in the possibilities ahead of you. We want to help you pursue them, and we want you to recognize the people who are helping make them possible.
Your future is worth investing in. Let’s make that investment count.
