• The Melbourne-based CombatAUS National Performance Centre (NPC) provides an athlete-centred, coach-led and performance-supported daily training environment for Judo and Taekwondo. The purpose of the NPC is to develop athletes capable of winning medals at benchmark international events, including World Championships and Olympic Games.

The program brings together targeted Australian athletes into a high-performance daily training environment that integrates world-class coaching, sport science and sports medicine, performance analysis and athlete wellbeing support. Athletes selected into the NPC are expected to fully engage in the training program, competition schedule and support services, and to uphold high standards of professionalism, behaviour and commitment.

These Selection Guidelines outline who may apply for the 2027 NPC program, how applications will be assessed, what selected athletes can expect, and the standards required throughout the program. Submission of an Expression of Interest does not guarantee selection, but allows CombatAUS and its partners to identify athletes with the potential and commitment to thrive in this high-performance environment.
