Thank you for making the decision to sign up your child for extra reading practice with an Our Kids Read Reading Buddy! This Read-a-Thon will happen run in the evenings of October 27th, 28th and 29th. We will match your child, one-on-one, with a seasoned adult Reading Buddy who will nurture or help develop a love of reading in your young scholar. Communication with Students

All communication throughout this program will be done through e-mail and phone via the contact information provided on this application. Please ensure that any changes to this contact information are provided in a timely manner to Our Kids Read at the following email address: reading@ourkidsread.org.
Reading Sessions
The reading sessions be conducted once per student via Zoom between Tuesday, October 27th and Thursday, October 29th (the parents and OKR Reading Buddy will coordinate schedules before the start of the program). Each session will be between 30 and 45 minutes. Please do not sign up for this program unless you are 100% committed to all your reading sessions (i.e. Our Kids Read reading will take priority over any extra-curricular events that occur during the scheduled reading times). The reading sessions and evaluations are audio or video taped for research, diagnostic and/or instructional purposes. To reach optimum efficiency in reading sessions, a number of assessments and evaluations may be administered to determine initial placement, identification of strengths, needs and progress.
Whenever student records are used in an instructional situation, confidentiality is
maintained in compliance with the Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (PL 93- 380).
