    2027 Health Insurance Q&A

What are the income limits to qualify for help in 2027?

Households with annual income between 100% and 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) may qualify for help paying their monthly Marketplace insurance premium.

For 2027 coverage, eligibility is based on your estimated 2027 household income, using the 2026 federal poverty guidelines:

    Household Size
Annual Income - Range That May Qualify
    1 person -  $15,960–$63,840
    2 people -  $21,640–$86,560
    3 people -  $27,320–$109,280
    4 people -  $33,000–$132,000

Income is only one part of eligibility. Access to qualifying employer coverage, Medicare, or Medicaid may affect whether you qualify. Some Wisconsin households with lower incomes may qualify for BadgerCare Plus instead.

Under current rules, households above these income ranges generally do not qualify for premium subsidies. The temporary enhanced subsidy rules expired after 2025.

What should I do right now?

Review your renewal letter to see your new premium and any coverage changes.
Check your doctors and prescriptions to make sure your plan still meets your needs.
Update your estimated income and household information so your Marketplace savings are calculated correctly.

Contact us if your costs increase or your needs change. We can help review available plans and check whether you qualify for financial assistance.
If you are happy with your current plan and it still fits your needs and budget, keeping it may be a good option. Even if your plan renews automatically, review and update your Marketplace application.

Are my plan options changing this year?

Available insurance companies and plans vary by county and can change from year to year. Your renewal letter will explain any changes to your current plan.

If your plan is ending, your premium is increasing, or your doctors or prescriptions are no longer covered as expected, contact us to review your options.
