    The ISTD Academy collects and processes personal information to assess applications, manage student records and deliver its programmes.

    Information collected may include:

    • Personal details (name, address, email address and telephone number)
    • Date of birth
    • Nationality
    • ISTD membership and PIN numbers (where applicable)
    • Qualification and application information

    Your information will be stored securely and processed in accordance with UK data protection legislation.

    Application Guidance

    Please read this form carefully before completing your application.

    • Complete all sections in English.
    • Complete all required fields.
    • Upload supporting documents where requested.
    • You may save your application and return to it later.
    • Enter "Not Applicable" where appropriate.
    • The first round of interviews will commence January 2027 for September 2027 entry.

    International Applicants

    Applicants for whom English is not their native language will need to demonstrate a proficiency in written and spoken English relevant to the demands of the course of study.

    IELTS: with an overall band of 5.5 with no less than 5.0 in each component skill.

    Language Cert International: ESOL SELT with 33 – 38 score per skill.

    Application Process

    Stage 1: Application Form and Supporting Documents

    Submit your completed application form together with all required supporting documents.

    Stage 2: Online Interview

    Applicants who meet the entry requirements and provide all required documentation will be invited to attend an online interview via Zoom.

    Places are limited and early application is encouraged.

    Programme delivery is subject to sufficient enrolment. Applicants will be informed as soon as possible should any changes affect programme delivery.

  • UK-based applicants must hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate before starting the programme. Evidence may be provided by: Showing your certificate during a Zoom call, or authorising an online check through the DBS Update Service.   • Section 4 - English Language

    Applicants for whom English is not their first language will need to demonstrate a proficiency in written and spoken English by uploading evidence at the end of this application form.

  • Do you hold any dance teaching qualifications awarded by another organisation?*
  • Are you considering completing the ISTD Licentiate qualification as your Advanced Teaching Module?*

  • Section 6 - Prior Learning and Experience Evidence

    As part of your application, you are required to provide evidence of your knowledge, skills and experience against a number of Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs). Some PLOs may already be evidenced through qualifications you hold. Others may require evidence drawn from teaching, training, employment, professional practice or voluntary experience. Please provide approximately 100-150 words for each PLO response. After each PLO you will be asked to provide contact details of a person who can verify the evidence provided. The same referee may be used throughout, where appropriate. Referees may be contacted as part of the application process.
